STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE ON USE OF IMPLANTABLE PROSTHESIS
1. PURPOSE:
To establish policies for drug safe procurement and use of implantable prosthesis
2. SCOPE:
A\ll patients being treated and managed with Implantable Prosthesis
3. RESPONSIBILITIES:
3.1 Treating doctor
3.2 Nursing Staff
4. POLICY:
4.1 List of implantable prosthesis used will be available,
4.2 Approved vendors list to be made available.
4.3. Evidence based medicines support the use of implants.
5. PROCEDURE:
5.1 Implants which are used frequently are stored in the hospital
5.2. The following information is recorded in the order note

Quantity of the item
Order date
‘Name of the company
Last order date

53 Once the order note is written, signatures are obtained from the in-charge and the person
ordering.
‘5.4 Order for items is placed with different stockiest or company representatives over the
phone as per the order note.
5.5 _Items are received from the stockiest as per agreed TAT.
