FOURTH ENGINEER’S HANDING OVER NOTES
Welcome On Board M.V.X -press Annapurna, Port Of Registry -Monrovia,
IMO No. 9354167, Call Sign 9V5990 and Year of Built 2008 At Hyundai Heavy Industries Co,
Ltd Ulsan Korea & Delivered On 08.07.2008 to NYK. Presently owned by Rochester Shipping
Pet Ltd., Classed under Korean Register, P & I Club –The London P & I. Vsl Crew Managed by
Marine Solutionz Pvt. Ltd., and All Technical, Safety & Quality by Eastaway Shipmanagement
Pte.Ltd Singapore. This Vessel Was Built In Feb 2008 & formerly ‘NYK TERRA’, Vessel is
presently doing IMX service. Last Dry Dock: July 2020.
Container Capacity:
This Vessel Is A Gearless Container Vessel, Capacity 6661Teu’s. On Deck 3520 TEU, In Hold
3141 TEU, Reefer Capacity Of Vessel Is 460 All On Decks.
MAIN ENGINE:
Hyundai MAN B&W 11K98 ME-C (MK-6), MCR: 62810 kW
@104 RPM. All Alarms, Slowdown/Shutdowns are working satisfactorily
M/E local control starting, Maneuvering from LOP last tested on 21 st JAN 2021 & all found
satisfactory, Emergency stop from ECR and from Bridge last tried out on 21 st Jan-2021
satisfactorily. Emergency steering is being tried satisfactorily as per PMS and during
surveys/PSC inspections.
All M/E routines and jobs are updated in PMS as per running hour record as handed over by
previous owners. Jobs are updated in the GL manger.
The ME No.2 turbocharger has been blanked & other two T/Cs No.1 & No.3 are in operation.
There are 5 no.HPS pumps & 2 no. start up pumps. A Few changes in the HPS & start up pumps
have been incorporated in 2016. Important ones are as per below
AUX. ENGINES:
YANMAR 8N280 L-ZV: Rating: 2398 Kw @ 720RPM.
Vessel has 4 numbers of generators and running performance of 3 generators is satisfactory.No.4
Generator is under maintenance. All Generators Alarms/Trips tested and working satisfactory.
BOILER
AUX BOILER IS WATER TUBE BOILER:
Make: KANGRIM, Steam Capacity: 5500KG/Hr. (Oil fired section) and 3500Kg/Hr. (Exhaust
gas section). Performance is satisfactory, All alarms/trips tested working satisfactory. Boiler
survey carried out on DD,
ECONIMZER IS SMOKE TUBE BOILER:
Recently all the tubes were cleaned, condition found okay. Safety valves should be tried out
Monthly Once.
PURIFIERS:
Sam gong SJ 100GH 4Nos. FO Purifiers, One Samgong SJ 30G MDO Purifier, 2Nos.
Samgong SJ 100G LO Purifiers, 2Nos Samgong SJ 20G G/E LO purifiers all in working
& satisfactory condition.
Sam gong SJ 100GH No.1 FO Purifier: Maintenance carried as per PMS. Last bowl
cleaned-August-2021.
Sam gong SJ 100GH No.2 FO Purifier: Maintenance carried as per PMS. Last bowl
cleaned-August-2021.It stopped on 05 September 2021 due to sludge discharge pipe
chock. Rectification to be done
Sam gong SJ 100GH No.3 FO Purifier: Maintenance carried as per PMS. Last bowl
cleaned-May-2021.
Sam gong SJ 100GH No.4 FO Purifier: Maintenance carried as per PMS. Last bowl
cleaned-Sept-2021
Sam gong SJ 100GH No.1 ME LO Purifier: Maintenance carried as per PMS. Vertical
and Horizontal shaft overhauled on 06.04.2020. Bowl cleaning to be carried out June-
2021.
Sam gong SJ 100GH No.2 ME LO Purifier: Maintenance carried as per PMS .Bowl
cleaned-June-2021. Vertical and Horizontal shaft overhauled on Jan-2021.
Samgong SJ 20G G/E LO purifier no.1-Maintenance carried as per PMS Last bowl
cleaned-May-2021.
Samgong SJ 20G G/E LO purifier no.2-Maintenance carried as per PMS. Last Bowl
cleaned-July-2021.
SJ 30G MDO Purifier -Maintenance carried as per PMS. Last Bowl cleaned-August-
2021. Water connecting pipe broken and requisition need to raise.
All FO,ME LO, AE LO Purifiers alarms and trips tried out on: August 2021
All Other Maintenance carried out as per PMS and updated.
MAIN AIR COMPRESSORS:
TANABE MODEL: H-373, Type vertical FW cooled 2 STAGE 3 cylinders Compressor.No.1
MAC is designated as Emergency Air compressor. 2,3&4 MACs are working satisfactory. MAC
No 2 HP valves replaced with new, Unloader replaced with new on 27.08.2021. MAC no 1 after
and inter cooling cleaning carried out on 30.09.2020, MAC 3 LP valves
replaced with new, HP valves overhauled and boxed back on 09.10.2020 . All alarms/trips tested
3-monthly last tested in April 2021 and working satisfactory .All other maintenance carried out
as per PMS and updated.
PUMPS:
All pumps and motors working satisfactory. Pumps/ Motors are greased frequently. Overhauled
motors and pumps are to be updated in monthly PMS.
* Main Cooling Sea water pp 2 overhauled on 20.07.2020 during DD.
* Central Cooling FW pp 2 overhauled on 19.05.2020.
* FW Gen Ejector PP Overhauled on 23.08.2020.
* ME JCW pp 2 overhauled on 07.08.2020
* Hot water circulating pp on 30.04.2020
* Ballast pp 2 on 20.07.2020 during DD
SEWAGE PLANT:
BIOLOGICAL AEROBIC TYPE 25 IMO Approved Jonhap. FLOW RATE: 2100L/DAY.
Sewage treatment plant is operating satisfactory. System opened, cleaned and flushed using fresh
water on 20.04.2020. Monthly once system flushed with sea water and alarms tried out working
satisfactory.
Clean Drain Tank currently using as a Sewage Holding Tank.
LOCAL FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEM (Water mist):
The LFF activates only when two no’s of designated detectors are activated. System takes
suction from Port F/W tank and sprays mist to the following areas.
1. Diesel Generator Port side
2. Diesel Generator Stbd side
3. Purifier Room
4. Main Engine
5. Incinerator
6. Boiler
Inspection should be carried out every month.3 months once system to be tried as per PMS
and to be updated.
INCINERATOR:
MANUFACTURER: SUNFLAME (Type: OSG-1500SDA), WO burning capacity is 161
kg/hour & solid burning is 200 kg/hour.
The incinerator is in good working condition and is used to incinerate operational and domestic
waste regularly. WO settling tanks are fitted with large capacity Evaporator fans.In sailing
evaporate water from BSOT, NO.1 & NO.2 Fuel oil sludge tank. Stop evaporation at anchor and
in port limits.

STEERING GEAR:
Yoowon Elec-hydraulic YDFT-6604the vessel is fitted with two ram, 4-cyl type rap-son slide
type steering gear. At any given time, two units #1 & #3 or #2 & #4 shall be in use. # 4 is the
designate for ESB power supply Steering Gear system is running satisfactory.
FO TANKS:
Vessel changed over from HFO to VLSFO (sulphur- <0.5%S) on 21-12-
2019. Time-0325 hrs LT (0125 hrs GMT).
Position- 27·32.4’N: 034·02.2’E
All Bunker tanks has been cleaned now containing VLSFO.8P & 8S cleaned and Line
modified for LSMGO bunkering.
5p & 5S– now containing VLSFO which is currently empty and ready for next Bunkering .
Last bunkered on 07.06.2021 at Rotterdam
6P & 6S- now containing VLSFO which is bunkered on 08.08.2021 at Rotterdam.
(containing sulphur less than 0.5%.(currently in use).
7p & 7s- now containing VLSFO which is bunkered on 08.08.2021 at Rotterdam.
(containing sulphur less than 0.5%.(currently in use).
LSFO Settling & Service tank- cleaning completed on 21.11.2019, kept in use from
21.12.2019.
HFO Settling tank- discard from operation on 21.12.2019 and need to be cleaned.
D.O TANKS:
NO1 MDO Storage tank- containing less than 0.1% sulphur LSMGO currently empty.
NO2 MDO Storage tank- containing less than 0.1% sulphur LSMGO currently empty.
E/R D.B.H.F.O Storage tank- containing less than 0.1% sulphur LSMGO currently empty.
NO1 & 2 MDO Service tank- containing less than 0.1% sulphur LSMGO.
8P& 8S- containing less than 0.1% sulphur LSMGO bunkered in August at Rotterdam.
FW TANKS:
2 Nos. of FW Port and STBD side, Port side FW level to be maintained minimum 80 MT of FW
all the time because Water Mist System connected to this tank.
LSA / FFA:
All In Satisfactory Condition And Being Maintained As Per The Maintenance Manual.
Every week the life boat engine should be tried out with both the batteries.
ER LSA and FFA to be inspected every month. Last inspected on 22nd August 2021.
Ship Drawings:
All plans & drawings kept in Conference Room on C-deck & some in ECR Inventory Checked.
Soft Copies of All Plans available in share folder.
ECA CHANGE OVER:
ME,D/G & Aux Boiler, should be change over LSMGO in European Ports as per
CE Order.
The Fuel Change over procedure is approved & kept posted in ECR.
PAPER WORK:
Monthly- Sludge reporting sheet, LO analysis, LO ROB & SLOC sheet.(25 th of
every month.
Weekly report Every Saturday(Sludge tank sounding, weekly lo analysis
report, parameters for auxiliary Machineries)
Every Sunday update running hours of Machineries, Lube oil, Chemical in Ship manager
without fail.:
