Procedure for HPR-01 Pumps
Tools/Equipment Required:
o 0-7000 psi gauge or transducer
o 5mm allen wrench
o 17 mm wrench
CAUTION: Follow safe work practices when performing this procedure. The hydraulic pump
will be on stroke. All unnecessary personnel should be removed from the work area of the
machine.
Note: This document is a field adjustment procedure. It is to be used only to adjust the
pressure compensation control.

Pressure Compensation Control Adjustment
Note: The hydraulic oil must be at normal operating temperature before making any
adjustments to the hydraulic pump or system.
1. Install a 0-7000 psi pressure gauge or transducer to measure pump outlet pressure in
port “P”.
2. Block the pump outlet pressure at Port “P”. This can be done by:
a. Securing the propel motor shaft, sprocket, or wheel that the HPR-01 pump
supplies flow to.
b. Deadheading a cylinder that the HPR-01 pump supplies flow to.
3. Ensure that all of the system relief valves in the HPR-01 pump circuit (including the
relief valve for the actuated function) are adjusted higher than the required pump
pressure compensation setting.
4. Set the prime mover to maximum speed.
5. Actuate the function in step #3 and read the value on the pressure gauge or meter.
6. To adjust the pressure compensator:
a. Hold the adjustment screw stationary and loosen the seal nut.
b. Hold the seal nut stationary and turn the adjustment screw IN to increase the
pressure compensation setting or OUT to decrease the pressure compensation
setting.
c. When the correct pressure setting is reached, hold the adjustment screw
stationary then tighten and torque the seal nut to 32 N-m (22 ft-lb).
Note: The pressure compensation spring in this control is not adjustable for the complete
pressure range of this pump. There are several pressure compensator springs available with
each spring having a specified pressure range. Please contact Linde Engineering Group to
acquire the correct spring for your required pressure range.
