Para 39 – police attached to courts are under control of PP and assist PP in office when not
employed in court. PP tell to SP of case where police attached to a case for more than 1
year.
PP duty to see that police in proper uniform in court, bring undertrials to court, etc functions
related to court. Also PP sees that witnesses/exhibits, etc present in court or not, where case
ready for hearing, see handcuffs taken off in court, safe custody of prisoners, take
recognizances, take accused persons into custody.
DIG has charge of Armed Police. DIG responsible for Suprindentent.
