Political

Japan's government is a constitutional monarchy with three branches, like in many other countries:
legislative, administrative, and judiciary. The government acts under the framework established by the
1947 Japanese Constitution.

Japanese politics are based on a constitutional monarchy and a representative republic (or
parliamentary monarchy), with the Prime Minister serving as the head of government and the majority
party. The government has executive power. The legislature is independent of the administration and
has the authority to vote no confidence in it, and in the worst-case scenario, to create a new
government on its own. The judiciary is crucial in counterbalancing the administration and the two
houses of parliament (the Diet), which include the upper and lower chambers. The Japanese political
system was formed on the model of the British parliamentary republic and was heavily inspired by civil
law countries in Europe.

Japanese corporations pay massive government taxes on their overall income. Foreign corporations
must pay taxes to the Japanese government on revenue earned in Japan. The country's taxes are
classified as follows: corporation tax, special municipal corporate tax, corporate tax, and corporate
residence tax. Her corporate tax rate in 2020 is 23.2 percent, and the government intends to cut it to 20
percent. Companies raising pay will enhance local economic expenditure.
