Print the pattern given at the end of this file on
standard A4 paper adjusting your printer's
settings to "actual size".
Prepare fabric, wash, steam and iron on fusible
inerfacing. I always recommend to use one to
reinforce your fabric and avoiding fraying.
Cut all the details out and lay them out on your
fabric folded in half. Remember that you will
need to outline legs, hands and ears twice.
In this picture I am cutting out two
mice.

Let's start with making a head.
When the head and
the body are outlined
on two layers of
fabric facing each
other cut them out.
Add some seam
allowance!
This is the parts with an
even seam allowance
around it and the outline
of the head dart as well.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Sew darts and trim them
with the pinking shears.
These are two head sides
with the stitched darts.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Now place both sides facing
right sides and pin with pins
so the fabric layers do not
move.
Stitch both sides
together and trim
with the pinking
shears.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Turn the head to
the right side.
Stuff the head with
some toy stuffing
very tightly and
firmly.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
The darts give the head
more 3D and less flat look,
also it's a position for the
ears.
Make the ears now. I
use lighter fabric for
the inner ear.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
1. Stitch
2. Trim
3. Turn out
4. Iron
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Now position the ears
right on the line of the
darts and pin them with
head pins.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Attach them with
the ladder stitch

When the ears are
attached, embroider the
eyes to your liking. I
usually find the position
for eyes trying on the
head pins.
Simple french knot
eyes

Embroider the
nose to your
liking
The head is ready.
Let's make the body.
You can sew the body
using contrast fabric
to imitate a t-shirt.

Sew along these
the side lines

When sewing two
body parts insert
the tail in
between the
parts so you have
sewn in tail after.
Alternatively you
can also sew on
the tail after by
attaching it to the
stuffed body.
I use a cotton
cord to make a
tail.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
When sewn, turn
out and fold the
top line inside at
about 5 mm
Pull the body
around the neck
and pin them
together.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Sew around with
the ladder stitch.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
When the body attached to the head, stuff it with
the toy stuffing.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
When the body is
stuffed, find its
middle and stitch
both body sides
together as in the
photo.
The holes you have now are for the legs.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Outline legs and
hands on two layers
of fabric facing right
sides, do not cut
them out. Firstly pin
them and stitch.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Then cut using
pinking shears so
the curves are
smooth.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Turn the legs out Stuff them and sew a
hand stitch as in the
photo
Now insert the legs
into these holes.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Stitch the legs to the body using the ladder stitch.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Finish the hands, when they are stuffed, close the
opening with the ladder stitch and you can attach the
hands to the body.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Attach the
hands by
using simple
seam, move
the needle
through the
body from
one hand to
another.
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
The mouse is ready!
You can dress them now to your liking!
EFI Little Things, Oxford, UK
Follow the steps for the trousers

You can finish the
pants with the
elastic band.
