Weekend Activity Camp

The `Weekend Activity Camp' is the latest camp designed for teenagers. It is not a camp in the traditional
sense of the word. Participants don't stay in a tent in the middle of the jungle. It is a day camp which lasts
a few hours. Participants can choose to participate on Saturday, Sunday or both. Each activity is 4 hours
long. Food and equipment is provided so participants only have to come dressed for the activity they have
enrolled.
If this has piqued your interest, check out all the activities offered by the camp at
www.weekendact_camp.com.my. However, let me give you some of the highlights of the activities you
can enjoy.
There are two types of activities offered at the camp; morning activity camp and extreme activity
camp. The morning activity camp is a fun camp offering games ranging from water balloon volleyball,
human pinball machine dodge ball, mud race and obstacle-course race. This camp is open to children aged
8 to 12 years old. The fee is RM80 per person. The extreme activity camp offers extreme sports such as
biking, free climbing, rock climbing, kayaking, stand up paddling, skateboarding or zorbing. This camp is
open to teenagers aged between 13 and 17 years old. The fee is RM160 per extreme sport.
Participants in the morning activity camp will get to try all the activities and games. However, the
extreme sports participants can only choose a maximum of two sports offered. Registration and payment
must be done online. All camp instructors are well qualified. They have the expertise in individual

PART 4 ( Questions 25 - 34 )
Read the text and answer questions 25 to 34.

Why I enjoy reading printed books?

Technology has changed our lives in many ways. It has made life very convenient. We can access
a variety of services, facilities, information and products quickly and easily because of technology.
We have the world at our fingertips because technology has given us software and apps which we
can use on our mobile phones, tablets, laptops or computers.
Many electronic gadgets, household appliances, machines, services and facilities have been
touched by technology. They have been made faster, easier or smarter because of the advancement in
technology. However, not all things need the intervention of technology in order for us to appreciate or
enjoy it fully.
I think printed books should be left alone. The best way to enjoy a story is to read a printed book
and not an e-book. We anticipate a progression in the plot with each turn of a page. Sliding your finger
across the tablet or e-reader doesn't give the same feeling. Printed books have pages which we can touch
unlike reading an e-book. Reading an e-book is like staring at the computer. Reading a printed book also
helps people follow the plot in the story better and readers are likely to remember the story longer.
Your printed book is something you can keep for a lifetime. It is also a reminder of your past.
When you hold a printed book in your hands, you can recall when you bought it or who gave it to you or
even the period in your life. A printed book with a drink stain or creased book cover brings back
memories but does an e-book do that?
A printed book is easy to share with family and friends. Reading a printed book is better for your
health too. When you read, an e-book before bed, the light from an e-reader can interfere with your sleep.
You will not get a restful slumber. Finally, a printed book is less likely to be stolen. If you leave a tablet or
a printed book unattended, which do you think is likely to be stolen?

Questions 25 - 34

29. A printed book takes you back in time to a different _________________________ in your life.

30. Reading a printed book is better _________________________ than reading an e-book because
it does not affect your sleep.

31. How can reading an e-book before bedtime disrupt your sleep?
The __________________________ interferes with your sleep.

32. The writer does not worry that someone will _________________________ his printed book if
he leaves it unattended.
