This project is very simple. Using this pattern, you can crochet a whole family of bunnies -

If you use materials mentioned above, you will get result in a toy 5 cm (2 in) length.
All pieces are crocheted in continuous rounds.

Level:
Beginner

Abbreviations:
sts – stitches
ch – chain stitch
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet for US (double crochet stitch for UK)
inc – increase: 2 sc in 1 stitch

NOTE: How decrease does: insert the hook into the next stitch and thread over. Pull a loop
through so that there are now 2 loops on the hook. Insert the hook into the next stitch and
thread over. Pull a loop through so that there are now 3 loops on the hook. Thread over again
and pull the loop of thread through all 3 loops on the hook.

3
HEAD

NOTE: For crocheting of circles - pull the initial thread end

out between rounds 2 and 3,
it would serve as the marker and help you to count the rounds.

Round 1: 6 sc into magic ring (6 sts)

R2: (inc) X 6 (12 sts)
R3: (1sc, inc) X 6 (18 sts)
R4: (2sc, inc) X 6 (24 sts)
R5-10 (6 rounds): sc around (24 sts)
R11: (2sc, dec) X 6 (18 sts)
R12: (1sc, dec) X 6 (12 sts)

After R12 stuff the head tightly

R13: (dec) X 6 (6 sts)
Leave the tail for stitching.

In the remaining 6 sc sew 6 stitches from inside

to outside in sequence, pull the yarn, secure and hide it.

NOTE: If you are making the toy for a child under 5 years old,
you need insert a safety eyes after R12 -
- between rounds 5 and 6, on either side of the head
and fix them with circles.

4
BODY

Round 1: make chain of 10; then 2sc in 2nd ch from hook; 7sc; 3sc in the initial ch of chain;
8sc on the other side of the chain (20 sts)
R2: 2 inc, 7sc, 3 inc, 7sc, inc (26 sts)
R3: (1sc, inc) X 2, 7sc, (1sc, inc) X 3, 8sc, inc (32 sts)
R4: (2sc, inc) X 2, 7sc, (2sc, inc) X 3, 9sc, inc (38 sts)
R5-16 (12 rounds): sc around (38 sts)
Make more 3 sc and sl st.
Leave the long tail for stitching.

Stuff the body not too tightly.

Fold the top edge in half and carefully sew the edges together.

5
Now you need to form "front paws" of bunny.
Pierce the front end of the body through with a thick needle, pull out the yarn, pierce the
body in the same place again. Pull out the yarn and gently tighten the resulting loop. Repeat
this 4-5 times. It is out a sort of "tucked paws“.

6
TAIL

Round 1: 6 sc into magic ring (6 sts)

R2: (inc) X 6 (12 sts)
R3-4 (2 rounds): sc around (12 sts)
Make sl st more.
Leave long tail for stitching.

EARS (make 2)

Round 1: 6 sc into magic ring (6 sts)

R2: (inc, 2sc) X 2 (8 sts)
R3: (inc, 3sc) X 2 (10 sts)
R4-9 (6 rounds) sc around (10 sts)
Make sl st more.
Leave long tail for stitching.

ASSEMBLY

Pin the head to the body over the paws and sew.
It is most convenient to do this with a special stitch
(see diagram) =>

7
Place some filler in the tail, pin it to the back end of the body and sew with small stitches into
each loop along the edge.

Sew the open edge of each ear; then fold that edge in half and sew again - so that the ear is
rounded. Pin the finished ears to the head and sew carefully, piercing through.

8
Mark the places of the eyes with pins. Use the blunt end of the hook to widen the selected
holes and insert the safety eyes. They hold quite firmly and without fixing circles (But for
children under 5 the eyes must be fixed with circles at the stage of crocheting the head!)
Now take a needle with a thin black thread and embroider one stitch "eyelashes" at the eyes.
Fix the thread and hide.
The same black thread embroider the nose of the rabbit with three stitches.

9
Your cute little bunny is ready! Congratulations!
