EVOLUTION OF MEDIA
PRE-INDUSTRIAL AGE (BEFORE 1700s)
commonly referred to as "parietal art," are
painted designs found on cave walls or
ceilings in Eurasia that date to around
40,000 years ago (38,000 BCE). It is unknown
what the Paleolithic cave drawings were
used for.
People discovered fire, developed paper
from plants, and forged weapons and tools
with stone, copper and iron.
Industrial Age (1700s-1930s)
The power of steam was used by
people to create machine tools,
establish iron production, and
manufacture a variety of goods,
including books using a printing
press.
Electronic Age (1930s-1980s)
The electronic era started when the
transistor was developed. The transistor
and the first
radio, electronic circuits,
computers were all created by people
who exploited the power of transistors.
Long-distance communication improved
in effectiveness throughout this time.
NEW/ INFORMATION AGE (1900S TO 2000S)
The social network was made
possible by the Internet, which also
made communication more rapid.
The development of personal
computers, mobile phones, and
wearable technologies boosted the
application of microelectronics.
Digitalization also applies to speech,
picture, sound, and data.
