"Ako'y Pilipino❞ Don't Give Up

Pilipino ako sa anyo,/ sa kulay,/

If you've tried and have not won,
Sa wika,/sa gawa / at sa kalinangan./
Never stop for crying;
Ang mutyang bayan ko'y / perlas ng silangan, /
All that's great and good is done
Kilala sa ganda / at sa iwing taglay na yaman./
Just by patient trying.
Ikararangal ko itong aking lahi, /
Di ikahihiya / sa alinmang lipi; Though young birds, in flying, fall,
Busilak ang puso,/ malinis ang budhi/ Still, their wings grow stronger;
Mamatay ay langit / kung bayan ang sanhi. / And the next time they can
Keep up a little longer.
Taas noong aking ipagmamalaki /
Pilipino akong / may dangal na lahi,/ Though the sturdy oak has known
Sintang Pilipinas / ang bayan kong saksi, Many a blast that bowed her.
Dinilig ng dugo/ ng mga bayani./ She has risen again and grown
Loftier and prouder.

If by easy work you beat,

Who the more will prize you?
Gaining victory from defeat,
That's the test that tries!
