◦ Go on + gerund: do something without stopping
◦ He went on talking about Istanbul for hours. = He only talked about Istanbul
without stopping.
1. He started cleaning the kitchen and then he went on to clean / cleaning
the bathroom.
2. We started working in the morning and went on to work / working until
late at night.
