What is a Dent & Buckle Chart?
Each aircraft in operation at some stage will receive damage, be it
from a bird strike, accidental impact, or mechanical damage.

The aircraft will carry a document in the cockpit summarising the

repairs and locations, this document is commonly referred to as
the “Dent and Buckle”.

For airworthiness purposes, the aviation authorities require that

aircraft carry details of the repair(s) and data that the repair is in
accordance with.
What is a Dent & Buckle Chart? (… cont)
The report collects all the damage and repair records for the
aircraft and includes all pictures and attachments that have been
uploaded into the system for each record. Therefore, the operator
of the aircraft has all the records including dirty fingerprints, repair
design data and other substantiating documents for the damages
and repairs in one accessible, user friendly, and legible document.
But it is not only the reports that deliver a friendly format – the dent
& buckle system design inherently stimulates users and
encourages them to add records to the system in real-time, which
leads to a significantly proved structural data management.

What happens if there are discrepancies? Re-do the repair.
