• Biomass Energy
Energy created or generated by living or formerly living creatures is known as
biomass energy. Plants like the aforementioned corn and soy are the most
prevalent types of biomass that are used for energy. These creatures' energy can be
used to generate electricity or be burned to produce heat.
Biomass is used as boiler fuel for cogeneration, rice and coconut husk dryers for
crop drying, biomass gasifiers for mechanical and electrical applications, fuelwood
and agricultural wastes for oven kilns, and furnaces and cooking stoves for cooking
are all examples of biomass technologies used in the Philippines.
Example
Biomass fuels include things like wood, plants, dung, and certain trash. The
chemical energy in biomass is converted to heat when it is burned. The wood you
burn in your fireplace is a biomass fuel if you have one.
4 different types of biomass
Wood and agricultural products, solid waste, landfill gas and biogas, and
alcohol fuels are the four types of biomass that we currently use. The majority of
biomass utilized now is domestic energy.

wood- These are called biomass feedstocks. Biomass energy can also be a non-renewable
energy source.
agricultural products-The agricultural biomass resource can be used as a source of energy
to produce heat, electricity and transport fuels.
Landfill gas- The use of landfill gas generated from the Waste Disposal Site as an electric
energy generator is called a Waste Power Plant
biogas is both biofuels they can be burnt to produce energy.
How is biomass energy produced?
Direct combustion is the primary method of producing most of the electricity from
biomass. In a boiler, biomass is burned to create high-pressure steam. These turbine

blades rotate as a result of the steam flowing over them. A generator is powered by the
turbine's rotation to create electricity.
The first step in biomass plant is the material processing were the biodegradable waste are
transport, then it will go on the combustion were the materials are being burn. The steam
of the burning materials goes to the boiler and go to the steam drum were the steam are
stored. Next it will go power generation through the steam turbine connected with
generator. The Interaction between the electromagnets of the moving rotor and the
copper coil in station stator produces an electric current. The transformer is used to
increase the current up to 400,000 volts.
Then, the steam will go to the steam cooler where it back to the boiler and the other will
support heating in industrial usage. The ashes of burned materials will become aggregate,
metals, and landfill.

What is biomass's main Advantages?
Since biomass is mostly sourced from plants, it will continue to be a source of renewable
energy for as long as there are plants in the world.
What is biomass's primary Disadvantages?
Open flames and conventional stoves are the main methods used to burn biomass fuels.
The demand for biomass fuels frequently outweighs the sustainable supply. Deforestation,
land degradation, and desertification may result from this.
Even biomass is not a perfect energy source. Although renewable, using biomass energy
plants to produce power has both advantages and disadvantages.

Reliability Some adverse environmental impact
Renewable energy exists in Biomass?
Biomass is regarded as a renewable energy source since organic matter may be
replaced in a rather quick period of time. It's also a pretty popular one, if you've
ever cooked with charcoal on a grill or burned wood in a fireplace, you've used
biomass energy.

Biomass is a renewable energy source that can be used to generate electricity, heat,
chemicals, and biofuels for transportation. Although it contributes just somewhat
to each economic sector, industry uses the most of this energy source.
