Learn more about yourself based on your score!
Sidenote:
Money beliefs run deep. Rest assured that a lower score is perfectly nor-
mal as you’re starting your healing journey. See this as your opportunity
to assess your mindset and create an even more powerful one. In Step 1,
you assessed your empowered money beliefs, so you’ll want to revisit
any beliefs where you put a four or less. What’s it going to take for you
to believe them? Do you have any evidence in your life right now that
what you wrote is not actually true?
Step 2 shows you the limiting beliefs you’re still possibly subscrib-
ing to. Take a look at how these affect your choices. Notice when these

come up, and choose a more empowered money belief. Bringing up
these beliefs with your therapist or mentor could change your perspec-
tive so that you start creating a more empowering mindset.
After a period of time, consider taking the quiz again. You could be
ready for your next money mindset upgrade!
Money Mindset Quiz Results
130–150: You’re Financially Empowered
Amazing! You have a positive, empowered mindset around money, and
that is rare. Consider that only 29 percent of Americans are considered
financially healthy according to the US Financial Health Pulse, and a
2017 Gallup Poll reports 85 percent of people hate their jobs. It’s not
common to be so at peace with your financial prospects, and you are
crushing it in that category. But unless your score was perfect, you may
still be holding yourself back from creating wealth in the way you desire.
Ask yourself: What action would you take if your belief system rated all
fives in Step 1 and zeros in Step 2? It’s time.

100–130: You Have a Pretty Clean Money Mindset
This is a solid place to be. You’re probably financially stable and gen-
erally positive about your prospects. You’ve also probably done some
work on your beliefs, or received some empowered messages around
money growing up. As positive as you are and as far as you’ve come, you
still have a few thoughts that limit you. This is your chance to remove
those blocks and get even stronger. As bestselling author Napoleon Hill
says, “If you do not see great riches in your imagination, you will never
see them in your bank balance.”

70–100: You’ve Got Money Woes on the Mind
Doesn’t everyone? According to the 2020 Mind over Money Survey
from the Decision Lab, 52 percent of Americans said they have difficulty
controlling their money-related worries. If that’s you, your transfor-
mation starts now with uprooting your limiting beliefs. Get organized,
and start making plans to hit your savings and career goals while you
upgrade your mindset.

40–70: Your Money Beliefs Are Seriously Limiting You
“Life reflects your own thoughts back to you,” wrote bestselling author
Napoleon Hill. And indeed, financial stress has a measurable impact. In
the Decision Lab’s 2020 Mind over Money Survey, 40 percent of Amer-
icans reported spending more money than they make, 43 percent said
their financial stress caused fatigue, and 25 percent said it was affecting
their relationships. Consolidating any debt you have with a trustworthy
company like SoFi, who helps you get your money right, could also
be the move to get you feeling empowered and secure. If your life is
financially stressful, it’s not money that can’t be trusted. It’s your beliefs
about money secretly running the show. Changing your money mindset
should be a top-priority focus as you continue on your You Turn.

40 or Less: Your Money Beliefs Need Deep Healing
I feel for you, my friend. This stuff is hard. We get so many mixed mes-
sages about work and money growing up and they seem so painfully
real. Fortunately, now you’ve noticed and can take action. For you,
healing your money mindset should be your top priority. Rest assured,
it doesn’t need to take a long time.

› Podcast Recommendation: All of the above!
1. Star which of the negative beliefs in Step 3 of the money quiz feel the
most true for you . . . and pick the three that hurt the most deeply.
2. Forgive yourself out loud for each of your top three nega-
tive beliefs, and update them with a new version of the truth.
Example: “I forgive myself for buying into the belief that .”
(Insert painful belief in Step 3—money is the root of all evil.) “The
truth is .” (Insert a new truth—e.g., money makes a lot of
good things happen in the world, like people who donate to nonprofit
causes.)
3. For each of these three negative beliefs, upgrade it by finding a con-
crete example that it is not true.
Example:
Belief: If I am rich, people won’t like me.
Upgraded story: My best friend is incredibly wealthy and I not only
like her, I love her.
CONCLUSION
What do you want to believe about your career, or the world around you?
Do you want to believe that your career can be fun and lucrative? Do you
want to believe that you’re worthy of greatness in your career? Do you
want to believe that money is easy to make, grow, and keep? The truth
of the matter is that your limiting beliefs from the past will keep winning
G rief an d G reatness G o H an d in H an d 91
until you choose new beliefs for your future. That means you must look
at your current results and examine what belief is keeping you stuck. With
that often comes grief: for your old self, your old habits, and your old
way of being. Let the grief be okay. Don’t make it mean you’re off course.
Worthiness is your birthright. Live according to what’s possible, instead
of being confined by your past. Don’t forget the five steps to progress:
find the beliefs that are holding you back, feel the beliefs that cause you
pain, forgive yourself for buying into the limiting beliefs, form a new and
more empowering narrative, and take action to fulfill your dreams.
