News and Announcements
I really enjoyed having the opportunity to touch base with all of you at Curriculum Night. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for wanting to be involved and supportive of your childs academic life. I am looking forward to a great year! Please note the following change. Math Club will typically be on Tuesday mornings at 8:00am. Since I have Jury Duty this T uesday, Math Club is being moved to W ednesday morning for this week only. Math Club is for children wishing further opportunities to practice previously taught skills. The math help will begin promptly at 8:00am. Please let me know if your child is planning on attending. Our top readers for September were Sasha Brownstein with 1,700 minutes, Katelyn Buckley with 1,452 minutes, and Cecilia Lim with 1,009 minutes. As a class, we read 16,919 minutes in September. Way to go everyone! I am encouraging all of your children to read an additional 100 minutes this month. That is only 25 minutes more a week. I will be meeting with Literature Circle groups this week. Groups 1 and 2 will meet on Monday. Groups 3 and 4 will meet on Tuesday and Group 5 will meet on Wednesday. Please check in with your children to see if they are prepared to meet with their group to discuss their completed Think Cards and the weeks reading. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. Warmly, Sandra Travers
