ACTIVITY 3.1
Creating a Graphic Organizer
1. Enumerate at least five (5) values that you think you uphold and
embody today. Provide each value with one scenario that shows
how you embody it.
2. Enumerate three (3) values that you still ought to develop or
strengthen.
   A. Herein are five core values that will define success and
happiness for your life. I list these five because I find
they have universal meaning and can be applied in any
      situation you’ll encounter in life.
   1. Honesty
Honesty should be the bedrock of your foundation, as it will define
who you are before you even allow others to know more about
you. If you always deal in the truth, you’ll live a life with far less
worry. Honest intentions in speech and action gain the attention
and respect of others.
   2. Open-mindedness.
Let’s just admit it, we’re all innately a little judgmental. But that
doesn’t mean we can’t be open-minded too. Follow up your initial
observations with a sincere effort to not only get to know someone
but understand them as well. They may come from a different
background, have a different belief system, and look nothing like
you, but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve the same respect or
kindness that everybody else receives. So just make it a rule of
thumb to open your mind to new ideas and new people! You might
even make a best friend out of it.

   3. Compassion.
It’s easy to get caught up in your own life and your own troubles.
But just remember—there are people out there suffering in a way
you will never know or experience. So the next time you’re getting
down on yourself about gaining a few pounds or declaring it’s the
end of the world after a break-up, think about your fortunes as well
as the misfortunes of others. And then do your best to help them
through these misfortunes: donate to the American Cancer
Society, take some baked goods to the homeless shelter, adopt a
dog in need. Focus less so on yourself and be more
compassionate toward others.
4. Patience and Hardwork
We all need to just cool our jets and practice more patience. For
example, instead of sighing and tapping your foot until you make it
to the register, stay calm; and when the cashier apologizes for the
wait, tell her it’s okay and mean it. She will feel loads better, as will
you. Patience often eliminates frustration, pressure, and all-around
negative experiences. So stop honking at slow traffic and willing
class to go by faster it won’t work. Instead, live in each moment
and gracefully move through life. What can be said that hasn’t
already about working hard? For the skeptics who are quick to
point out that hard work doesn’t always make sense, don’t worry, I
agree. I believe in intelligent hard work. Busting your tail for
something without thinking it through is a fool’s game. But working
hard, with focus and desire is the key to getting ahead.
5. Kindness.
Smile: it’s the simplest act of kindness and can go an extremely
long way I can’t emphasize that enough. Smile at the cashier
who’s ringing you up at the grocery store, smile at the couple
walking down the street, smile at your neighbor when you leave for
work. Feeling extra kind? Compliment them, tell them to have a
great day. That’s right, all it takes sometimes is a smile, a dash of
attention, and contagious positivity.

   B. . Enumerate three (3) values that you still ought to
      develop or strengthen.
1. Patience
Everybody goes toward his different journey, different goals, and
different lives at his different pace. Sometimes, we get caught
from other people’s expectations and demands that we forget this
fact. We tend to pressure ourselves and not realizing that we all
go through individual paths incomparable to others. We have to
realize the essence of our very own seasons. We have to be more
careful and adjust to our expectations and we must learn to forgive
and forget.
2. Perseverance
We fail, a lot of times, but that should only mean that we still have
a lot of shots we can take if we only keep on moving forward.
Even we have full of life obstacles and challeges, we must be
strong and continue and pursue what we want in life. Hardwork
pays off at the end of the time. Keep striving.
3. Compassion
We may set our eyes on different perspectives, but we must learn
to truly value the fact that we need to show our unconditional care
towards other people. We are all fighting battles that we do not
always talk about so it is best to show kindness and respect all the
time. Even though there are bad people around us, people who
pull us down and make our life miserable, we must learn to be
patient, kind and careful for the things and people around us.
