TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Acquisition and Application of knowledge, skills, attitude, and values in the care of
patients with various orthopedic-related cases with special tools and medical equipment or
intervention while focusing on health promotion, health maintenance and disease prevention,
utilizing the nursing process with the integration of leadership and management skills.
ENABLING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of duty at Zamboanga City Medical Center: Orthopedic Ward. I would be able to:
1. Report on duty on time, adhere to the dress code and with complete paraphernalia.
2. Orient myself with the following;
Physical setting of orthopedic ward
Location of the different health facilities
Availability of resources and use of hospital services and equipment
Administrative officials, health personnel and staff.
3. Apply therapeutic communication techniques for effective NPI.
4. Establish and maintain rapport with clinical instructor, rotation mates, hospital officials,
health personnel, staff, patient and significant other.
5. Familiarize common medical equipment used, trend of cases, and the number of people
admitted.
6. Familiarize intervention made in relation with the case, and equipment used.
7. Identify health needs and problem from the data gathered of assigned patient.
8. Monitor, assist and implement appropriate interventions for the patient.
9. Document all actions performed and information relevant to the patient.
10. Comply requirements given by the clinical instructor on time.
11. Demonstrate development of critical thinking skills through the use of reflective thinking
and problem solving, utilizing the nursing process.
