Part C: Long-Question. (Total 16 marks)

The recipe and the nutritional information of ‘granola bars’ are shown below. Answer the questions
using information provided in the recipe.

Granola bars
(Serving: 15 bars)
Ingredients:
mixed nuts (e.g. walnuts, almonds, 300 g
cashews and hazelnuts)
pumpkin seeds 50 g
sunflower seeds 50 g
dried fruits (e.g. dates, cranberries 500 g
and raisins)
rolled oats 150 g
butter 175 g
runny honey or syrup 75 g
light brown sugar 125 g

Preparation:
1. Preheat the oven to 180C. Then roast all the nuts, seeds and oats in the oven for 15-20 minutes
until golden.
2. Chop the nuts roughly and mix well with the dried fruits.
3. In a saucepan melt the butter with the honey and sugar over a medium heat. Pour over the mix
of fruit and nut and stir to combine, spread the mixture in to a baking tin, and press the mixture
down with the back of a metal spoon.
4. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and cut into bars after the bars cool completely.

Per serving: 1 bar (340 kcals)
