Economy of Bihar:An Overview
‘Bihar's economy has madea strong come back in 2021-22. At
‘constant price, Bihar’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP)
‘grewat 10,98% in 2021-22. The national growth rate was 8.68%
in2021-22,
In 2021.22, Bihar's Gross State Domestic Produet atthe current
price was Rs. 6,75,448 crore and atthe constant price of 2011-
12, itwas Rs. 4.28,065 crore.
Bihar's per capita GSDP at the current price was Rs. $4,383
‘and atthe constant price of 2011-12, itwas Rs. 34,465,
‘From the primary sector, the greatest contributors to the GSDP.
‘were two sub-sectors: animal husbandry and fish-farming &
hydroponics which grew at the rate of 9.5% and 6.7%
respectively during the period from 2017-18 to 2021-22. Mining
and excavation sector registered a growth rate of 9.0%
In 2021-22, the share of the primary sector in the GSDP was
21.2% while the share of the secondary and tertiary sector
‘was 18,1% and 60,7% respectively.
From the view point of per capita GSDP, three most affluent
districts are : Patna (Rs. 1,15,239), Begusarai and Munger and
the three poorest districts are Sheohar, Araria and Sitamathi

on 27 November, 2022 by the water Resources Department.
‘This drinking water will be supplied to Rajgir, Nawada, Gaya
