Id-Film 300

ID-FILM 300 is a dark amber liquid corrosion inhibitor used to protect oilfield tubular goods and downhole tools from corrosion when in contact with clear brines. It controls corrosion in workover or packer brines containing salts like sodium chloride or calcium bromide. As a modified amine additive, ID-FILM 300 protects metal surfaces from corrosion in both shallow and deeper hotter areas. It is compatible with various brine fluids and protects tubular goods and completion tools but pilot testing is recommended for use in viscosified fluids.

PRODUCT BULLETIN

ID-FILM 300
ID-FILM 300 corrosion inhibitor is a modified water soluble amine type additive used to protect all oilfield
tubular goods. ID-FILM 300 inhibitor helps prevent general corrosion attack on casing, tubing and down hole
tools in contact with clear completion brines.

Typical Physical Properties

Physical appearance Dark amber liquid

Specific gravity 1.10
pH (1% solution) > 10.5

Application

ID-FILM 300 additive controls corrosion of tubing and casing stings when used in workover or packer brines,
including sodium chloride, calcium chloride, sodium bromide, calcium bromide and zinc bromide. ID-FILM 300
corrosion inhibitor is designed for use in clear brines but can be used in viscosified completion or drilling fluids.
Pilot testing for compatibility is recommended for this application.

Advantages

• ID-FILM 300 protects metal surfaces in both the shallow, upper part of the wall and in the deeper, hotter
areas.
• ID-FILM 300 protects both tubular goods and completion tools exposed to workover or clear completion
brines.
• Compatible with sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride, sodium bromide, calcium bromide
and moderate density zinc bromide brine fluids.

Toxicity and Handling

Handle as an industrial chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions as described in
the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

Packing and Storage

ID-FILM 300 is packaged in a 55 gal (208 ltr) drum.

Store at moderate temperatures in a well-ventilated and dry area. Keep away from heat, sparks and flames.
