CONDUCT OF MONITORING OF LEARNING ACTION CELLS FOR THE '
IMPROVEMENT OF TEACHING AND LEARNING IN SCHOOLS

1, Enshrined in DepEd Order No. 35, s. 2016, the Learning Action Cell (LAC)
shall be implemented in schools as a school-based continuing professional
development strategy for the improvement of teaching and learning. Through this
policy, this Office fully supports the continuing professional development of its
teaching personnel based on the principle of lifelong learning and DepEd’s
commitment to the development of teachers’ potential aimed towards their success
in the profession.
2. Relative to this mandate, this Office, through the Curriculum and Learning
‘Management Division (CLMD) and the Field and Technical Assistance Division, shall
conduct monitoring on October 6 and 10, 2023 to provide more explicit guidance to
Schools Division Offices (SDOs) and schools as regards the conduct of LACs. Further,
the provision of technical assistance to SDOs shall scale up practices that are found
to be effective in highlighting and rewarding LAC accomplishments.
3. Division Education Program Supervisors in charge of LAC and Senior
Education Program Specialists in Monitoring and Evaluation are requested to assist
the Regional Monitors in the conduct of the said activity.
4, Teachers shall not be disturbed in their actual classroom teaching during the
conduct of monitoring in schools as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 022, s. 2023.
5. The following are enclosed for guidance and information:
