and express brand image and “DISTINCTIVENESS”.
Furthermore, marking must only be used for the purposes agreed by Fiat Group Automobiles and
Suppliers.
Currently active suppliers shall comply with Fiat Group Automobiles procedures and standards, with

STANDARD IMAGE LIST CHECK
Stile & Prodotto (Product Concept) will provide variations/additions to standard list shown in Table in
Annex 1 to E&D for all new models, restyling operations and face-lifts.
Product Concept should proceed during Strategic Setup (Phase T1) for all components of the platform
(mechanised underbody architecture) and during Technical Setup (Phase T2) for all the other
components.
H2
PRESENCE AND CONFORMITY OF MARKING IN DRAWINGS CHECK
This step consists in checking for presence of logo in drawings. If present, compliance with standards
currently in force and with standardisation plans for the specific application of the examined component
is checked.
H3
MARKING CONDITIONS IN CASE OF TOTAL OR PARTIAL (MODIFIED) CARRY-OVER
a) Marking is required for items with commercial/image relevance when logo is not present.
b) Conformity of marking must be evaluated and corrected if needed for items with
commercial/image relevance when logo is present.
c) Marking must be added/updated if the cost delta for adding/updating marking is equal to zero
for items without commercial/image relevance.
H4
ASSESSMENT OF COMPONENT MARKING
All model-specific (new) or first-application (innovative) components must be marked, based on the
criteria described below.
H4.1
Use of the image logo
F THE ITALIAN EDITION IS NOT AVAILABLE OR NOT UPDATED, THE ENGLISH EDITION IS THE VALID REFERENCE.
Parts which, due to their position, impact on vehicle image and characterise product exclusivity must
display only the image logo of the model visible after the component is fitted: LANCIA or FIAT or ALFA

Development, it may be asked to apply the image logo only also on other components not included in
the Table in Annex 1.
The shape, size and type of the marking will be chosen during business case first target evaluation
WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN CONSENT BY FGA S.P.A.

Parts & Services may choose to use a different marking than that of original equipment for discontinued
components (by means of specific agreements with the Supplier) for use on components supplied as
spare parts only.
With regards to marking of lights and windows on discontinued models (spare parts sourcing), the
Fiat Group Automobiles marking related to the period of production/sale will be applied, according to
Std. 07404 “Marking on discontinued models”.
H4.5.2
Current components
Parts & Services may choose to use a different marking than that of original equipment for current
components (by means of specific agreements with the Supplier) for use on components supplied as
spare parts only.
H4.5.3

• Image logo application area; the logo must be clearly visible when the component is fitted in a
position so as not to affect the technical and functional features of the component.
THIS DOCUMENT MUST NOT BE REPRODUCED OR CIRCULATED TO THE THIRD PARTIES
• Combined logo application area; the logo position must not affect the technical and functional
features of the component.
IN CASE OF DISPUTE THE ONLY VALID REFERENCE IS THE ITALIAN EDITION.I

• Date of manufacture code application area; possibly, not visible after the component is fitted.
CONFIDENTIAL
Unless otherwise required by law, the type-approval data application area must be visible when the
component is fitted for parts subject to national and/or international type-approval (see Table B).
Identification particulars agreed upon with “E&D - PTS - Homologation & Regulation” will be indicated

H4.7
Marking on supplied assemblies
If the concerned part is an assembly, the logo must be required in drawings of the most significant
component of the part itself and, when technically feasible, on all the other components managed as
spare parts.
When introduction of the marking requirement only is necessary, this will be subjected to
technical/economic assessment by the applicable Management according to the procedure followed for

analysing any other change request.
H4.9
Exceptions for marking related to contractual agreements with other Auto Manufacturers
a) Components not characterising common image with other auto manufacturers consequent
to agreements (unless required by law)
In principle, the requirements specified in § 2 and help H4 shall be followed, with the exception of
possible specific agreements between the parties.
Example:
. For “Fiat Auto and Peugeot S.A.” projects, reference is made to Std. 07418.
. For other projects, refer to the “logo” section in Std. 07408.
In all cases, the logo shall be used in agreements with Parts & Services to protect business.

license from Fiat”.
- Designed by Fiat Auto and manufactured by Licensees with the Licensee’s logo:
The parts (C.K.D. and series of separate parts) must be supplied by Fiat Group Automobiles to
the Licensees as used by FGA.
For localised products (i.e. products made by Licensees or Local Suppliers), parts must have no

agreed between the parties, components must have the Licensee’s logo plus the caption “Under
license from Fiat”.
Only the Licensee’s logo must be applied to vehicle image characterising parts (wheel caps,
manufacturer’s badge, etc., see Standard List in the Table in Annex 1).
H5
CHANGE PROCESS ACTIVATION BY MEANS OF OdM
Requests for non-technical changes related to marking updates applied to image characterisation
components and/or components with commercial relevance, must be requested by Stile and by P&S to
E&D - VLE/MR, respectively, and managed according to standard OdM assessment/approval process
(07954). With this regard, costs/investments must be managed within a specific Extra Change Fund
