Annealed Copper Wires for Electrical Purposes _C 3102-1984
1. Scope
This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies annealed circular copper
wires for electrical purposes, hereinafter referred to as the "wires".
2. Symbol
The symbol of the wire shall be A.
3. Characteristics
The characteristics of the wire shall comply with Attached Table, when
tested in accordance with 7.
4. Dimensions
‘The size of wire shall be expressed by the diameter and be as given in
Attached Table.
5. Appearance
‘The appearance of the wire shall be such that the surface is smooth
and free from flaws, rusts, cracks and other defects detrimental to
practical service.
6. Manufacturing Method
No joint shall be made on the wire. When it is finished by wire
drawing operation, however, the above requirement need not be fulfilled.

7. Test Methods
7.1 Appearance The appearance shall be tested in accordance with 3.

7.2 Dimensions The dimensions shall be tested in accordance with 4. of
JIS C 3002.
7.3 Elongation The elongation shall be tested in accordance with 5. of
ns ¢ $002
7.4 Electric Conduct The electric conductivity shall be tested in
accordance with €- of TIS © 3002.
8. Inspection
Inspection shall be made, on the following items in accordance with the
test methods of 7., and the product shall comply with requirements of 3.,
4., 5. and 8.

(2) Dimensions
(3) Elongation
(4). Electric conductivity
9. Packaging and Net Mass of One Coil
Each one length of wire shall be coiled into a bundle or coiled on a
bobbin, and shall be packaged suitably so as not to be damaged during
transportation.
Net mass of one coil shall be as given in Table. When the mass is
determined by the agreement between the parties concerned, however, the
above requirement need not be fulfilled.

10. Designation
The product shall be designated by the mame and diameter, or by the
symbol and diameter.
Example: Annealed copper wire for electrical purposes 2.0 mm or
A 2.0 mm
1. Marking
Following information shall be marked on bundle or bobbin, by
indelible way.
(1) Name or symbol
(2) Diameter
(3) Net mass
(4) Gross mass (in the case of coiled on bobbin)
(5) Manufacturer's name or abbreviation
(6) Year and month of manufacture or their abbreviation4,
