2: 21st century skills and categories

Class, do you have an idea of what is

21st century skills all about?

When we say 21st century skills, it is

refers to a broad set of knowledge,
skills, work habits, qualities, and
characters that are considered
necessary to cope with today's world
and future careers and workplaces.
Thank you! 21st century skills are the
skills that you must learn as a 21st
century learner and you must also know
the 4 c's.

Class, Are you all familiar with 4 c's?

 Yes, sir!

What are those? Those are critical thinking, creativity,

communication, and collaboration.

Great! going back to our topic, class,

when is the beginning of the 21st
century and when will it end? The beginning of the 21st century is in
the year 2001 and it will end in the
year 2100.
Exactly, when we say century it is
equivalent to 100 years.

Now, Let's take a look at the first

category of the 21st century skills.

What are the words that comes into your

mind when you hear the word career?
Profession, job, occupation, journey,
future, employment, etc.
Everything you have stated is correct!

Class, how do you define career?

Career is defined as a job or series of
job that you do during your working
life, especially if you continue to get
better jobs in earn more money.

following life and career skills.

 Flexibility and Adaptability

1. Adapt to change

when we say adapt what does it mean?

When you say adapt it is the change or
acceptance of a situation in order for
you to be fit to the changing
environment.
Exactly, when you say adapt, this is how
your approach to a specific situation to
be fit and suitable to the changing
environment.

1. Adapat to change- adapt to varied

rules, job opportunities, schedules and
context.
Who wants to read the first sentence?

What does it mean?

This means that we can handle any job
or any position because we are flexible
and can easily adapt.
Thank you we should be flexible in our
schedule, time, and especially to our job.

when the pandemic came the way of

Praise is a positive feedback we say to a

In our life, we need to accept criticisms
in order for us to grow. We need to
embrace our imperfections in mistakes

 corrections and judgments.

1. Manage goals and times

Class, how do you manage your time?

As a student, I manage my time at
home in school when I wake up in the
morning I will do household chores
such as sweeping cooking and cleaning
the house then afterwards i will do my
school works.
Wow! That's very impressive. We all
know that you can manage your time
well and we can see that you have goals
that you need to accomplished.

2. Work independently

Class, are you a kind of people who can

work independently or are you define do
people who likes to have company?
I'm a kind of people who can work
independently.
Why do you prefer to work
independently?
Because I want to grow and stand on
my own feet so I get used to work
alone and not relying on other people.

valid and as a leader it's very important

As a leader, why do we have to be

responsible for our members? we have to be responsible for our
members because we are responsible
for their well-being and are
accountable for everything that
happens in your community.

you because they believe in your ability
that you can lead the community.

In doing other projects we need to be

productive, right? because if we work

As a student, we should know how to

manage our time, allocate our time at
studying, relaxation, and household

This means that it implies using the

individual talents, skills, and abilities
of each member in a collaborative
work to achieve a common goal.
That's right, we are you using each an
individual abilities to achieve common
goals. It is about utilizing the strengths
and expertise of every individual.

via example and selflessness" what is
this is statement all about?
it is all about inspiring others to
motivate in life to reach their goals
encourage them to excel for being a
good example and role model to them.
Great! Motivate them to keep on going
and fighting even though life is hard.

Class, how do you demonstrate integrity

in ethical behavior in using influence
and power? Be transparent, meaning to say be
honest and open about your intentions.
Avoid secretive behavior and hidden
plans. This is crucial in maintaining
positive relationship with other people.
That's right, transparency is one of the
most important for having a positive
relationship with other people. Being
transparent means no bad intention,
secrets, and hidden agendas.

As a pre-service teacher it is very

careers. Education is a dynamic field

of curriculum. Therefore, we need to
acquire these 21st century skills to
keep up with changing environment.
