Rain On The Roofs

The poem describes the poet's feelings and memories when it rains. When it rains, the poet enjoys lying in his cottage listening to the sound of the rain on the roof. This triggers memories of his childhood, particularly of his mother putting him and his siblings to sleep. While the poet is now grown, he fondly remembers his mother and siblings from his past. The rain and the sound it makes evokes both happiness in the present and nostalgia for his childhood.
