Student Portal
Introduction
The student portal is a website platform that allows students to login to view the following information:
● Contact information
● Demographic information
● Timetable
● Report Cards
● Course Selections, and
● Transcript, course requirements and community hours information
Hardware Requirements
A PC, Mac, or Tablet with an internet connection will allow you to access the student portal website platform.
Access to the student portal from the school’s computer is guaranteed.
Browser Requirements
Student portal is accessible using the following browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
Login Credentials
Student portal user accounts and passwords are generated and communicated to you by the school. Please
visit your school office if you have not received your username and password for the student portal website.
Privacy & Security
The edesmbli Student Information System is maintained on YCDSB’s secure internal network. Access to the
student portal is limited by user-specific permissions. It is your responsibility to maintain the privacy of your
username and password.

Student Portal Login
The following section describes how to access the student portal website to login with your username and
password.
1. Navigate to your YCDSB secondary school website.
2. Select the Students tab link.
3. Navigate to the right, locate and select the Connect Student Portal ConnectEd logo.
Result: The edsembli for Students login page appears.
4. Enter your login credentials in the username fields.
Note: Your edsembli username is your @ycdsbk12.ca email account. It is the same as your school computer
login credentials. Please contact your school office if you encounter difficulties logging into edsembli
CONNECT.
5. Select the Login button to proceed.

Home Page
The home page lists your name, picture (if applicable), age, grade, cohort grouping and homeroom
information. The tabs available to select are areas you may access to view your academic data for the school.
Layout
# Layout Description
1 Logout Select link to properly exit Edsembli's Student Portal. This will ensure
personal information is not accessible by anyone else.
2 Student Information Lists your name, picture (if available), age, current grade, cohort grouping
and homeroom information.
3 Tabs Access demographic information, attendance information, timetable
information, course selection for next school year, transcript information
and bussing information (if applicable).

Personal Tab
Edsembli's Student Portal provides access to view personal student information. Students are able to view
their biographic and family contact information in the personal tab layout.

1 Student Information Displays student birthdate, age, student number and OEN number.
2 Address / Contact Displays student’s address and emergency contact information.

Digital Documents
Students have access to electronic versions of published mid-term report cards, final report cards and report
card appendices using Edsembli’s Digital Documents. Digital documents are accessible from the Personal
Tab > Digital Documents.
Once the Digital Documents is selected, the page will load with documents that have been published. The
following is an example of the page layout and the type of reports that are published in this area of the Student
Portal.
# Layout Description
1 Schools The schools menu will allow you to select different YCDSB schools you
may have digital documents published from.
2 Document Title The document title will detail the type of report and the report release
date.
3 View/Download The View/Download area will provide links to download and view the
published report(s).

Attendance Tab
Edsembli's Student Portal provides access to attendance information. Students are able to view their current
day attendance and any submitted attendance notes in the attendance tab layout.

1 Office Entry Display attendance entered by school attendance staff.
2 Teacher Entry Display attendance entered by the teacher.
3 In/Out Display In/Out attendance (if applicable).

1 Attendance Display a history of notes submitted to the office which was entered.
2 Print Preview Generate a report of the list of attendance notes entered.

Timetables
Edsembli's Student Portal provides access to timetable and course selection information. Students are able to
view their current timetable and course selections under choices which they have chosen for the next school
year.

1 View Select the view type of the timetable to display in the layout page.
2 Timetable Display the timetable format based on the view type selected.

3 Choice Type Display the type of course code chosen (Mandatory or Alternate).

Edsembli's Student Portal provides access to transcript information. Students are able to view the courses
completed, completion requirements summary and community hours.

1 Course Code Display course code completed.
2 Course Title Display course name of course code completed
3 Date Display completion date of course code.
4 Mark Display mark earned for course code.
5 Credit Earned Display credit value earned for course code.
6 Compulsory Indicates whether the course completed is a compulsory requirement.
7 Previous School Indicates whether the course completed was from a previous school.

# Layout Description
1 Category Group Display which credits have been earned in each category group.
2 Summary Totals Display summary of the compulsory, optional and required course
requirements.

1 Placement Display placement.
2 Contact Display placement contact name.
3 Start Date Display start of placement
4 End Date Display end of placement.
5 Hours Display hours completed in placement.
6 Total Community Hours Display the total community hours earned to date.

Exit Student Portal
It is important to exit the student portal properly by using the Logout link. This prevents other users from
potentially accessing your information. The following section describes how to properly log out of the student
portal website.
1. Navigate to the top left corner of the page and select the Logout link.
Result: You have successfully logged out of the student portal website.
2. Select the X button in the top right corner of the browser to close the session.
