General Disinfestations Service:
Pest Covered: Cockroaches, Red & Black Ants, Spider and silverfish.
COCKROACHES: German (Blatella germanica), American (Periplaneta Americana),
Brown Banded (Supella longipalpis) and Oriental (Blatta orientalis)
They cause diseases like asthma, gastro enteritis, dysentery, diarrhea and food poisoning.
German Cockroaches- Normally found in Kitchens, Food processing units, Restaurant, in cracks,
crevices etc. They prefers warm & moist environment. Their reproduction rate was high than other
species.
American Cockroaches- They found in Manholes, Gutters, Severs, Ducts, They entre in home through
nani traps, they can climb through drain pipes to high rise.
Brown banded Cockroaches- They are normally nocturnal in nature but occasional seen in the day
time, they are just like German cockroaches, they found beneath tables, furniture, shelves, behind wall
paper, They are active and have tendency to fly when disturb.
Oriental Cockroaches- They are found in darken places like basements, cellars, near heating
appliances and can tolerate hot & dry locations.
Black Ants/Red Ants- Ants are social insects and live in colonies; they get attracted to Fats & sweets.
They detect their path through pheromone secretion.
Ants normally cause nuisance when they attack the fooding items, sweets and other material. They
reduce the food quality & can contaminate the fooding material, they can bite or sting, it can cause
swelling & itching.
Spiders- Normally present at ceiling level, back side the frames, mirrors, making of webs which cause
nuisance as it was look dirty.
Silver Fish- They are shiny silver & gray colour having long antennae. They feed on carbohydrate
substances such as starch used for wallpaper paste and damp wallpaper.
Recommendations:-
Sanitation: Removing excess food and limiting availability of water inside areas that are
infested with cockroaches.
Habitat removal: Sealing the treated potential Cockroach harborages i.e. cracks, crevices, wall
voids, large opening around pipes under kitchen sink and bathroom.
Needless accumulation of boxes and other trash should be avoided.

Rodents which comprise rats, mice bandicoots are among the most persistent and damaging group of
pest with great economic importance due to their role in problem of food and health of human being.
Adaptability and intelligence enable them to conquer variety of habitats, even the extreme conditions.
Rodents are not only nuisance; they damage and destroy material by gnawing. They contaminate
stored food and are also of human health importance as diseases carriers (vectors) of infections
jaundice, leptospirosis, plague, and salmonella.
Rat proofing: Judicious use of metal sheets, concretes, metal guards to plug the opening or rat entry
points such as window bottoms and edges of exterior doors, wooden walls, pipes and wires running
upside wall
Type of Rats:
House Mouse- They are small in size very clever, good climbers and live in homes, social
environment.
Roof Rats- Large size, their tail was longer than their head+ body length, sexual maturity
attended in 8 to 12 weeks. Body weights up to 150-200gms.
Norway Rats- Commonly found in drainage. Their tail was short than their head+ body length,
they prefer the food containing carbohydrates & proteins. Body weights up to 400gm.
Bandicoot - This very ferocious looking rodent with long face. It does considerable damage to
fields & buildings. Adult weight between 300 to 1000gm.
