PROJECT PROPOSAL
Peer Education Training on
Adolescent Health and Development Program
for the Establishment of Teen Health Kiosk

I. Introduction

The Adolescents Youth and Health Development Programs was established in 2001 under the
oversight of the Department of Health in partnership with other government agencies with adolescent
concerns. The program is targeting young ages 10-24, on which it seek to provide guidelines for youth-
friendly comprehensive health care and services.

Pursuant to Administrative Order No. 34-A s 2000, the Adolescent and Youth Health Policy was
issued in April 2000, it created sub programs for the adolescents and youth. It envisioned a well-informed,
responsible individual.

As mandated on division memorandum no. 40 s. 2016, in pursuant to Dep Ed. Order No. 63 s. 2012,
that GAD plans incorporating programs, projects and activities (PPAs) must be issue-based resulting from
gender analysis and research ensuring that different concerns and issues of both women and men are
equally addressed in the GPBs.

To continuously disseminate information and awareness among students, teaching and non-
teaching personnel, San Roque National High School – Senior High School will conduct its first Peer
Education Training on Adolescent Health and Development Program for the establishment of Teen Health
Kiosk and to propose activities that will enhance and uplift the values of each Filipino adolescents.
Activities are designed for both male and female adolescents, which starts by exploring the main gender
concepts and how they relate to development. Moreover, nutrition, sexual and reproductive health,
reduction of early pregnancy, violence and other teen problems will be discussed.

II. Objectives

 Create a student body that can help and support the school in terms of gender sensitivity
promotion
 Plan for activities that can address peer problems
 Develop peer leaders
 Provide a clear understanding of the adolescents and youths responsibility
 Help promote a child-friendly school
 Create an advocacy that encourages students to improve oneself

III. Source of Fund

Expenses relative to the conduct of this program such as food and materials shall be charged to
School MOOE Fund subject to the usual auditing and accounting rules and procedures.

IV. Participants / Target Group

The activity entails participation of the Principal, Guidance Counselor, Senior High School Nurse,
Senior High School GAD focal person and 50 target students/peer leaders.

V. Date of Implementation

The Peer Education Training on Adolescent Health and Development Program will be conducted on
October 10-12, 2018 from 8:00am to 5:00pm only.

VI. Target Venue

San Roque National High School - Senior High School.

VIII. Expected Output

The following will be the bases/indicators on the achievement of activity’s objectives:

 Build harmonious work relationship among students and teachers


 Created a center that caters teen problems
 Address teen problems
 Familiarization and awareness on the different adolescents and health issues as well that can be
observed in the school
 Produce a strategy that can increase gender sensitive awareness
 Strengthens the government advocacy on the different adolescents program
 Lessen the cases of early pregnancy in San Roque National High School
 Educate the students on how to be responsible individual and how to say “NO”
 Strengthen partnerships among adolescent groups, families, school and community.
