REPORT ON INDUSTRIAL VISIT (TCS Lucknow)
Event: Industrial Visit TCS (Tata Consultancy Services)
Date & Time: wednesday , 14 october 2020
Venue: Tata Consultancy Services, Lucknow.
Participants: BTech 7th semester (CSE)
BTech 7th semester students had visited Tata Consultancy Services,
Lucknow on October 14, 2020 along with faculty members Prof. Ram Suchit Yadav and
Mr. KK Dwivedi. The visit was a part of their industrial visit program which college had
arranged as a part of Industrial Exposure Program. The students were welcomed by Mr.
Vishal and Mr. Siddharth.
Mr. Vishal has given a brief introduction about TCS. He explained how TCS works and
today where it stands in industry. He had also given information about TCS governing
body right from Chief Executive Officer till Chairman. He explained about values of TCS
like Leading changes, Integrity, respect for Individuals, Excellence, Learning and Sharing.
He also explained about Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI),
Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) , And Difference among them And working for ANI
and etc. He also explained how TCS has made itself in all walks of service providing and
consultancy.
Mr. Siddharth organized a special session on Software Engineering about software
Development Life Cycle called SDLC. His session was very interactive and students
asked lots of questions to Mr. Siddharth. He also explained about working methodology
of TCS and how TCS works in large projects. He also explained whole SDLC
methodology lifecycle right from project inception till maintenance. SDLC session was
enjoyed by all the students. He had given real life examples of various situations arising
in company regarding planning of project. He also explained various models of SDLC
like Water Fall Model and many more along with the Scrum Framework and division
of software in various modules i.e. modules distribution among several organizational
teams within the company. He explained TCS working methodology for SDLC projects
which is combination of Iterative and waterfall models. .
At the end of this visit they had organized one small Funny Video for fun and all the
students had given the feedback to Mr. Siddharth and Mr. Vishal. At the end students
asked some basic general knowledge questions and other questions related to TCS.
Industrial visit to TCS was a huge success which was full of knowledge. Students got to
know working methodology of a MNC company and how the people are working in
large projects.
Students got industrial exposure on this trip. All agreed that such kind of trips must be
organized more frequently in future and students must be given industrial exposure so
that, during course, they can develop the skills required for industries. The main
objective behind the visit was to make student aware about how Software company works,
there Services, Job opportunities and Information Resource Center (IRC) Functions.
