ACTIVITY NO. 2.2
TECHNOLOGY AS A WAY OF REVEALING
Direction: Explain the following comprehensively.
1. What do you think are the benefits of having social media?
Your youngster will benefit from using the internet and social media for study. We now have
access to a vast amount of reliable information thanks to the Internet, and social media is a
terrific resource for finding and disseminating reliable information. About their interests and the
subjects they are studying in school, children can obtain a variety of information. Social
networking can help you connect with educational communities and professionals.
2. How does this social media relate to the Heidegger’s notion of revealing modern technology as
challenging forth?
It relates to Heidegger's idea of modern technology being revealed as a challenging forward
because SOCIAL MEDIA failed to protect their users' personal data in the Cambridge
Analytica breach, which caused people who use Facebook to become alarmed and provoked
and express their concerns about privacy and human rights.
3. How are social media users’ enframed in this particular issue on cyberbullying, anxiety and
depression?
Cyberbullying is a serious public health issue that raises the risk of mental health problems,
such as psychological and developmental troubles or suicidal thoughts. However, because
cyberbullying is a relatively new phenomena, there isn't much consensus among academics
on its definition, prevalence, and measurement techniques. In this study, we assess studies
that examined cyberbullying on social media that were published between January 2013 and
August 2015. The study's objectives are to (I) describe the traits of those who engage in
cyberbullying and (II) specify the kinds of tools used to gauge cyberbullying on social media.
4. What do you social media can be used in a way that is more consistent with Heidegger’s idea of
poiesis or bringing forth of technology?
By challenging the technology itself, Facebook users can use the Heideggerian questioning
concept as a guide to the true purpose of social media. They start to ponder what the true
essence of technology is. They could then assess what the original goal was for their benefits
and drawbacks. With the Heideggerian questioning notion, users can asses whether or not
their use of technology is ethical or for a good cause.
