DIY HANDMADE PAPER

NAME : JANVI SINGHI
ROLL NO. : 121321001008
CLASS : BA HLP 1st year

I tried to recycle paper with simple

techniques at home! Many times we throw the used
papers or books but you would be surprised to know that
by using these waste papers you can produce new papers
which will reduce disposable problems. By simple
calculation you may know the importance of recycling
papers as shown below :

Recycling 1 tonne of paper SAVES :

~Atleast 30000 litres of water!!
~Between 3000-4000 KWH electricity which is enough
for an average 3 bedroom house for a whole year!!

MATERIAL :
Used papers, water, food colours or fabric colours, strainer, cotton fabric, container,
mixture.
PROCEDURE :
1) Take used papers or old newspapers and cut them into small pieces.

2) Soak the papers in water and leave it overnight.

3) Blend soaked paper in mixture or blender and get the pulp out of it.
4) fill half container with water and add 2 to 3 spoons of pulp and mix it well!

5) Put your strainer inside the container and slowly scoop up the paper fibre which settled over it.

NOTE : You can add various colours in water to have coloured papers
THE CONTAINER MUST BE BIGGER THAN THE STRAINER.
6) Once you have strained the water, you have to press it SLOWLY with cotton fabric.

NOTE : make sure that you press it slowly and don’t spoil the paper

7) Flip the strainer and dab it slowly on the cotton cloth then leave it for drying.
8) your handmade DIY paper is READY!!

NEVER REFUSE TO REUSE!
