being present in Hab and Quetta.
Reasoning for location
Geographical Advantage:
● Imagine Karachi, with its vibrant streets and the vast expanse of the Arabian Sea.
This bustling city, home to over 16 million people, holds a special place in Pakistan's
heart. Its port, a maritime marvel, handles more than 60% of the country's cargo,
effortlessly bringing in raw materials and sending out finished treasures.
● Abundant Labor Force:

Now, picture the streets of Karachi, alive with a diverse crowd, each individual contributing to
the city's rich tapestry. This human mosaic forms the backbone of the textile industry, providing
the skilled hands and minds needed. In fact, the textile sector employs around 38% of the
nation's workforce.
Reasoning for location
● Proximity to Cotton Belt:
● In the heart of Sindh province lies Karachi, a stone's throw from the
cotton fields of southern Punjab and Sindh. This closeness guarantees a
steady flow of raw cotton, the very essence of the textile industry.
● Diverse Range of Textile Products:
● Walk through Karachi's textile sector, and you'll encounter a world of
creativity. From yarn to fabrics, apparel, and home textiles, there's an
artistry in every thread. In 2020, these creations amounted to
approximately $13.5 billion in exports, weaving stories of craftsmanship.
Reasoning for location
● Vertical Integration Opportunities:
● Among the city's bustling industries, you'll find spinning mills and
weaving units, seamlessly working together. This synergy
streamlines production, making it both cost-effective and globally
competitive.
● Access to Special Economic Zones (SEZs):
● Hidden in the city's tapestry are Special Economic Zones, offering a
haven for businesses. Over $1 billion has been invested here, taking
advantage of tax exemptions and other incentives. It's a testament to
the city's appeal to investors, both local and foreign.
Reasoning for location
● Supportive Government Policies:
● The government's role in this tale is significant. Schemes like the Duty Drawback Scheme
provide a financial helping hand. Additionally, a substantial budget of PKR 200 billion,
approximately $1.2 billion, has been allocated to boost the textile industry.
● Market Access and Export Potential:
● Picture Karachi's textile creations finding their way across the globe. Over 200 countries
receive these treasures, with the US, EU, and Middle East being cherished destinations.
Pakistan's GSP+ status with the EU offers a privileged gateway to European markets.

This is the story of Karachi, a city not just of industry, but of people, dreams, and the artistry of textile.

It's a tale woven into the fabric of Pakistan's economy, an ode to growth, opportunity, and

craftsmanship.
Reasoning for location
Skilled Workforce and Technical Expertise:
● Behind the scenes, Karachi's educational institutions and vocational
centers churn out a wave of skilled professionals. More than 8,000
graduates each year, each one carrying the torch of textile expertise,
ensuring the industry's growth.
