1.Introduction to the Industry ;
1.1 Nature & Business / History :-
Nature :
Tata Motors is a Global Automobile Manufacturer offering a wide range of
commercial , passenger and EVs. Tata Motors Limited ( TML) is one of India’s
biggest automobile manufacturing companies with an extensive range of
integrated , smart and e-mobility solutions in its portfolio.
History :
Incorporated in India’s in the year 1945, Tata Motors is a part of the over $
100 billion Tata group founded by Jamset Ji Tata in 1868 . Recognized for its
world – class quality , originality, engineering and design excellence , the
company is on the path of shaping the future of mobility in India .
Tata motors was founded in 1945, as a locomotive manufacturer. Tata group
entered the commercial vehicle sector in 1954 after forming a joint venture
with Daimler- Benz of Germany in which Tata developed a manufacturing
facility in Jamshedpur for Daimler lorries. By Nov, 1954 Tata and Daimler
manufactured their first goods carrier chassis at their Jamshedpur plant with
90-100 hp and capacity of 3-5 tons . After years of dominating the commercial
vehicle market in India, Tata motors entered the Passenger vehicle market in
1991 by launching the Tata Sierra, a sport utility vehicle based on the Tata
Mobile Platform. In the 2000s , Tata Motors made a series of acquisitions and
partnerships, acquiring Daewoo’s South Korea based truck manufacturing unit ,
a joint venture with the Brazil-based Marcopolo ,Tata Marcopolo Bus, Jaguar Land
Rover, Hispano carrocera and an 80% stake in the Italian design and
engineering company trifix.

The company produces cars, trucks, vans and busses. Subsidiaries include British
Jaguar, Land Rover and South Korean Tata Daewoo. Tata Motors has a joint ventures
with Hitachi [ Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery] and Stellantis, which makes
vehicle parts for Fiat Chrysler and Tata- branded vehicles.
-Activities :
Its principle activity is the development, manufacture and sale of Jaguar luxury
and sports cars and Land Rover premium four- wheel- drive vehicles.
1. Industrial Training ;
1.1 Industrial Training at a glance
[Brief description about the specific department in which training is done]
I decided to work in a department in which I can improve by skills to the next
level. So I finally choose the technician department where the professional
technicians work with honesty and with dedication. They work all kinds of
technicians problems and tries to solve them. The nature of the department is
completely hygienic and comfortable. Technicians talk with customers politely
and solve their any kind of problem. They taught me the different jobs during the
work. They enhances my skills and overall personality. They feel happy while
taught me. They taught me how to do ,multiple services of car like change of
engine oil ,air filter ,oil filter, brake pad, suspension system, air conditioner
filter, balancing of wheel and so many things. I literally found that I’m
improving day by day. In the technician department , there were multiple
skilled workers like , dentors and electricians also .
There were advisors, technicians, foreman , floor incharge. They work honestly
and always on time. I feel so much comfortable with them. It was the great
experience to me.
2.2. Details Of Project Done In The Industry :-
I worked there in technician department . Detail of projects done in
industry are as follows ;
. Changing and cleaning of brake pad .
. Changing and cleaning of air filter
. Changing and cleaning of ac filter .
. Chnaging of suspension system .
. Changing of engine oil .
. Changing of oil filter .
. Servicing of cam timing .
. Change of lights .
. Cleaning of throttle body .
. Wheel balancing
. Wheel alignment
2.2.1.Objective :-
My main objective to train in the industry is to enhance my skills and to
become best engineer . The technicians in the industry help me a lot to achieve
my objective . They fulfilled by objective with great dedication. I always work
hardly there to achieve my goal day by day . This training helps me a lot to learn
the great skills in the industry .
2.2.2. Methodology :-
The method to learn new skills is that on the first day of training, I
met the best technicians of the industry . They work effectively and
efficiently and taught me the same level of hardwork and dedication.
They taught me daily new things and tell me the different problems
of cars and their solutions. It was the great learning to me. There, I
am improving day by day .
2.2.3 Observations And Learning Outcomes :-
I literally observe that the place is so good to learn new skills about
automobile engineering because the technicians who works there, were always
tries to taught the new skills to new mambers with truly.
The learning outcome from the industry is that , my skills about automobile
engineering improves very quickly day by day, because there were many of
the customers daily came , to improve the running conditions of their cars .
In short, it was the great experience to me to improve my skills at a great level
in very few days.
3. Suggestions :-
Tata motors should have a testing site where they can test their
products . It would be beneficial for them to test vehicles to make sure that
their vehicle to make sure that their safety designs fulfilled their duty to
protect their consumers. For Tata I would start implementing small then
working your way up to more countries.
4 . Conclusion :-
Tata motors is one of the best cars manufacturing company in India. People
feel that Tata cars are people’s car as it is satisfactory on all parameters . Tata
motors have knowledgeable sales persons, the employees of Tata motors spend
enough time before and during sales.
