MODULE 9: PICTURE INTERPRETATION
PICTURE NO. 1:
In picture no. 1 it shows the family that has the different world because I can see that every one of
them has gadget and busy on it. That’s one of the problem that I observe in every family, like instead
of talking to each other bonding to each other they choose to focus on their gadgets. Where is the
happy and communicative family? I can say that this problem will never end if we continues to do this
kind of action. As of now we should do our role as a parent, child, student, a part of community that
we should spread the love not on gadgets but in personal communication so that we achieve the
community friendly, peaceful, together that we all wanted.
PICTURE NO. 2:
In picture no.2 I can say that facebook is now the judge of everything. It’s like the when you post
something in facebook and other people don’t like it or people who hate you will judge you and throw
negative words from you. They say that Facebook is our freedom wall but I think it is not, it is not
because when you post something the whole world will know it and we are not aware of what might
be the impact of it on everyone of us even yourself. Judgment happen in court not in facebook be
aware of everything you post cause now we are in different world people are now eaten by the
modern technology.
PICTURE NO. 3:
In picture no. 3 I can see the picture as the famousness that other people achieving it even they harm
themselves. A lot of people specially in tiktok and instagram that are obsessed to have a lot of
followers, likers, and fans to have a lot of likes that they can provide their own needs like for food, buy
a lot of things, and more. But there are some people who used the fame to help other people, not all
famous people use their money for nothing nor they use it to help other people and to tell the world
that money cant buy everything we want. Cause money is for everyone. Back to the image just like I
said people are likely have a lots of likes to be fame and treat them like god and they think it will be
enough to provide their need. They think they can eat it as how many it likes.
MODULE 10: LEARNING TASK 2: BIODIVERSITY OR BIO-DIE-VERSITY
1. WHY DO YOU THINK BIODIVERSITY IS IMPORTANT IN SURVIVAL OF THE SPECIES?
Biodiversity is important in survival of the species because without a wide range of animals,
plants and microorganisms, we cannot have the healthy ecosystems that we rely on to provide
us with the air we breathe and the food we eat. The animals need us and we need animals,
plants need us to taking care of them then we need plants to get some fresh air. Everything is
connected to every one of us so if we lose one of them we can’t provide the others thins we
just rely on what we see and what we can get.
2. WHY DO WE NEED TO PROTECT THE HABITATS OF ANIMALS AND OTHER SPECIES?
We need to protect the habitat of the animals and other species because they are like humans
that need to survive in everyday life if we don’t take care of it or them it just like we didn’t care
of ourselves. To survive in this world we should protect and taking care of everything and
everyone of us, if we didn’t care or protect our habitats specially the habitats of animals what
else can we get from them? And how do we survive? We should taking care of everything in
our surrounding so that we can live the way we want.
3. WHAT ARE HUMAN-CAUSED ACTIVITIES THAT THREATEN THE LOSS OF SPECIES?
DISCUSS ATLEAST 3
First is the deforestation or habitat loss, for me this is one of the human activities that
threaten the loss of species it is because deforestation Is destroying the habitat of all animals,
how they live if people continue to destroy their habitat. Deforestation has a lot effects to
animals not just for them but also to humans, because of this landslide happen and killing a lot
of animals and peoples, and losing their home. Second is the overharvesting, this is also I think
one of the threatening human activities, this happen in the ocean where the fisherman catch a
small fish using a net that has a very small hole that cause the little fish who should swim
freely and grow die. This lose the population of the sea animals that even the fish who should
be deep under the water came up because of lack of foods. The third and lastly one for me is
pollution, pollution happen when people are throwing garbage in the ocean that also cause of
loss of their habitat. How animals specially the sea animals live in dirty water or polluted water
or ocean, just think if you where the one who live in there would feel comfortable? I think not,
you will feel hopeless because you can survive in it and think how you will find other home and
start again. I don’t know If this answer is right but if we continuously destroy our nature our
mother earth time will come we can never get something that is clean, safe, healthy and even
the animals will be our enemy.
4. HOW WOULD YOU RECONCILE THE EMERGING NEEDS OF HUMAN BEINGS
REGARDING THEIR HEALTH AND NEED TO PROTECT FROM GROWTH OF BIODIVERSITY?
For me to reconcile the emerging needs of human beings regarding their health and need
protect from growth of biodiversity is to establish small, local farms using friendly ecosystem
and permaculture practices that maximize food variety, quantity and quality. Reduces the
need for transportation thus shrinking the carbon footprint. Increases food security. Increases
biodiversity. In here we can help each other, we can help animals and other species to live and
survive in this world.
5. DO YOU THINK THAT EARTH CAN EXIST WITHOUT HUMAN BEING TAKING CARE OF
IT? OR BIODIVERSITY ALSO NEEDS HUMAN BEINGS FOR IT TO BE IN A CONTINOUS
GROWING PROCESS?
For me earth can survive even human are not exist cause I believe nature can
continuously grow and grow and much more beautiful, it don’t need human to
taking care of it cause it can taking care of it by itself. But also human can make it
improve and biodiversity can be much more healthy and safer. Human can
connect to nature but if they abuse it it will gone the beauty will gone and if the
human disappear the nature will heal itself and create another world.
6. WHAT ARE SMALL WAYS THAT YOU THINK WOULD PROMOTE SAFEKEEPING OUR
BIODIVERSITY?`WHAT WOULD YOU THINK ARE THE COMMON HUMAN ACTIVITIES
THATCAN HARM BIODIVERSITY? WHAT WOULD BE THE CONSEQUENCES IF THESE
HUMAN ACTIVITIES MIGHT BE STOPPED AND PROHIBETED?
For me the small ways that I can promote safekeeping our diversity is to control
ourselves from destroying it, and also by giving people the knowledge about how
biodiversity important and how it destroy us if keep destroying it. Deforestation,
pollution, and overharvesting. I think if this action stop our biodiversity will
become a sustainable and friendly to everyone because there’s no harm in
everything and everyone of us.
VACCINE: research in the Philippines
The vaccination in the Philippines is a crucial issue that affects the health and
well-being of the Filipino people, especially in the context of the COVID-19
pandemic. According to the National COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard¹, as of
December 6, 2021, the Philippines has administered 121,873,016 doses of
COVID-19 vaccines, covering 56.76% of the population with at least one dose,
and 58.11% of the population with full vaccination⁵. The Philippines has received
vaccines from various sources, such as COVAX Facility, bilateral donations, and
direct procurement. The vaccines currently used in the Philippines are Sinovac,
AstraZeneca, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sputnik V, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and
Covaxin⁵.
The Philippines faces several challenges and opportunities in its vaccination
program. Some of the challenges include vaccine hesitancy, supply constraints,
logistical difficulties, inequitable distribution, and emerging variants⁵. Some of
the opportunities include increasing vaccine availability and access, enhancing
public communication and education, strengthening health system capacity and
coordination, and promoting regional and global cooperation⁵. The Philippines
aims to vaccinate up to 70% of its population by the end of 2021 to achieve herd
immunity and curb the spread of COVID-19⁵.
The Philippines also has a vaccination schedule for other diseases that affect
children, adolescents, and adults. The schedule is based on the
recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Philippine
Pediatric Society (PPS). The vaccines for children 0 to 1 year old are given for free
in barangay health centers. Booster doses for measles, rubella, tetanus,
diphtheria and vaccine against Human Papilloma Virus- cervical cancer-causing
disease are also provided in schools during School Based-Immunization³. The
vaccines for adults include influenza, pneumococcal, hepatitis A and B, typhoid
fever, rabies, Japanese encephalitis, and yellow fever⁴. These vaccines are
available in public and private health facilities.
Vaccination is a vital tool to protect oneself and others from preventable
diseases. It is important to follow the recommended vaccination schedule and to
consult a health care provider for any questions or concerns about vaccines. It is
also important to support the efforts of the government and other stakeholders
to ensure that everyone has access to safe and effective vaccines. By doing so,
we can contribute to a healthier and more resilient society.
