I-Witness: Kakosa Kaklase documentary by Kara David is a captivating and persuading
documentary that digs deep into the stereotyping or misjudgement of the public about the
prisoners or inmates. This documentary will give the viewers an insight into the lives of
prisoners behind bars and will dig deeply into the system inside the bars.

The documentary that Kara David conducted on New Bilibid Prison is an interesting
documentary that makes the viewers sympathize with and empathize with the inmates. This
documentary is purposely making us see a glimpse of the lives of inmates behind bars by using
interviews, personal narratives, and visually engaging narration to persuade us about the lives of
those behind bars. The theme that these documentary uses is education inside the prison; it
showcases us that even though they committed various crimes, they still have a good side among
them and want to change and make up for their wrong deeds. This approach by this documentary
shows the side of those inmates that they still have humanity and reveals that they are not just
criminals but individuals who have their own stories and experiences that we can't just judge if
we don’t know them.

This documentary will touch the viewer as they watch it. One of the most touching
aspects of this documentary is the rehabilitation of those inmates using education in prison. This
documentary shows the determination of those inmates to change and to achieve their goals that
they didn’t achieve when they were not in prison. It’s just shows the importance of the education
and we can achieve changes through education. Their dedication to change and to make up for
their deeds shows us that everyone in life has a chance to change, even though the challenges
inside the prison that they face are inspiring for the viewers.
