ASSIGNMENT 1 EXPLAIN THE EXTEND TO WHICH YOU SEE OR FIND THIS COURSE CONTRIBUTING TOWARDS

THE ATTAINMENT OF ZIMBABWES VISION 2030

WHAT IS VISION 2030

The goals of Vision 2030 are national peace, freedom, democracy, equality of rights, economic growth, and prosperity. Vision 2030
for Zimbabwe sees her aspiring to become a successful upper middle-income nation by 2030, with job opportunities and a good
standard of living for its citizens. It is consistent with Agenda 2063, the African Union's 50-year plan to abolish poverty on the
continent. It also fits into the present administration's basic principles for the new era. By encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship,
equitable development, and prosperity for all in a market economy that, building technology could contribute to Zimbabwe's Vision
2030.

WHAT IS BUILDING TECHNOLOGY

Building technology and design refers to the use of technology in building design. It is a part of architecture and building engineering
and is occasionally seen as a different field or subcategory. Building Technology (BT) Program brings together researchers, staff, and
students to develop architectural ideas and technological solutions for structures that help construct a more compassionate and
ecologically conscious society. With the viewpoint of protecting the environment at the centre stage, so that the future generation will
also benefit from it.

IMPORTANCE OF BUILDING TECHNOLOGY

Building technology is significant because it increases the building's energy efficiency, increases user comfort, and monitors and
assures the building's safety. The world is aware that technology is always changing. Everything changes quickly, even construction.
As the days, weeks, months, and years go on, efficient activities take place and become more precise. Understanding building
technology is necessary to spot discrepancies between the construction papers and how things are being built on the project site. The
contributions which are to a greater extent are explained below.

1. SUPPORT FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The sector, like all the other significant participants, makes a certain amount of contribution to Zimbabwe's growth and prosperity. Its
contribution is vital; it offers the physical infrastructure required as a foundation for the operations and development of other
industries. Due to the labor-intensive nature of the majority of construction projects, it is well recognized to have a significant impact
on employment rates. This expands to other industries, generating revenue and creating jobs in the manufacturing, transportation, and
business sectors. Building projects need the purchase of necessary raw materials from the industrial sector, including bricks, wood,
glass, aluminum, and steel. This generates income for drivers and fleets used by businesses.

2. THE CREATION OF MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR WORK

A decrease in unemployment rates is a noticeable sign of a growing economy. There are several work prospects in the construction
sector, both within and outside of a project. When a contractor uses labor-intensive techniques, these chances are considerably raised.
When small- to medium-sized contractors work on small- to medium-sized projects, this is typically the case. Larger contractors
frequently adopt more advanced technical construction methods. Their labor-intensive strategy promotes the development of jobs
during projects, providing cash for local residents. Employers may choose to use locals as plumbers, carpenters, roofers, site
managers, transporters, or security guards, among other professions.

3. IMPROVED POTENTIAL FOR INVESTMENT

There is a noticeable interest in construction investments due to the booming sector and the high number of contractors competing for
both government and nongovernment projects. Lack of competition results in sluggish project delivery, poor financial management,
and tardy project completion, all of which deter investors from looking into the construction sector.

However, both big and little construction firms compete for jobs in the United States. They ensure that contractors are prepared to
relocate to any place in the nation where an expansion project is desired and to carry out their work effectively. The economy is
impacted by the availability of qualified contractors since it reduces execution delays and promotes project quality. Promotion of
technological development and careers related to c it .The majority of companies worldwide are utilizing technology. Although using
technology is an option, it does not in any way diminish the value of human work as we now understand it. For instance, there will
always be a need for laborers in the building industry. After all, IT specialists must be employed to manage communications sent by
mail and fax, construct spreadsheets, produce 3D visualizations, and handle all other logistics-related tasks that ordinarily consume
time and resources. Even if some larger businesses may already be following this technological trend, tasks will be finished more
quickly once technology is seen as a need and integrated into regular operations. Solutions that address many of the productivity
barriers and efficiency gaps in the construction sector are already proliferating. While hardware equipment like construction drones
and trackers are being used, they are improving both efficiency and security on the workplace. Software solutions exist to handle back
office tasks like bookkeeping and mechanics lien filing. Dependence on technology will increase efficiency, enhance profit, and cut
costs. The benefits, if any, exceed the drawbacks.

5. RURAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Increased investment and infrastructure development are essential to a community's socioeconomic success. The tools for
socioeconomic development in rural communities are provided by the construction projects carried out by small contractors there.
very small building companies are more eager to take on modest projects in rural locations, and these initiatives frequently promote
development by meeting the minimal infrastructure requirements of tiny towns. The initiatives may have an impact on healthcare,
offer educational facilities, and enhance transportation. The tiny initiatives help the neighborhood where the project is being done
flourish economically and assist nearby small companies.

CONCLUSION

Construction sites that had been halted owing to the shutdown are starting to resume all around the world. Due to accumulating
projects, there will probably be an increase in building during the post-COVID-19 era. The sector must devise strategies to satisfy
accumulating demand. After the pandemic, prefabrication trends in the sector are likely to increase. Construction activities will be
performed off-site more frequently, and drones will be used for technical surveillance. In all honesty, it will take some time for the
industry to recover its footing and resume operations. Past crises may deter private sector companies from making investments in an
uncertain economic future. The government, however, can start to promote economic recovery, infrastructure projects should either
start or see an increase in investment.
