Answers:
1) Dorian wanted 600 bucks, but Todd claims to have paid him 600 bucks the day before. Dorian is
clearly Todd’s landlord.
2) He asked his boss to pay him early, but his boss wasn’t interested.
3) He saw his own doppleganger, and he was talking about a time machine.
4) One guy was torn in half. Another guy had his arm ripped off. There were numerous enormous
‘bite marks’ on the ceiling.
5) They showed him a man entering the penthouse suite a few minutes before the crime was
committed, and the suspect was wearing a gorilla mask.
6) He found a man who introduced himself as Dirk Gently. Firstly he had a fight with him, and then
he kicked him out. Dirk told Todd that he was his new assistant.
7) Some people with military number plates. They fired a shot at Todd, but missed and hit someone
in the upstairs apartment. They then followed Dirk when he left the apartment.
8) Because Lydia Spring (the missing girl) had an argument with her father, then went missing, and
then one week later Patrick Spring (the father) turned up in a homicide (at the hotel)
9) Because he has a belief in the fundamental interconnectedness of all things.
10) She had a nerve disease which caused vivid hallucinations.
11) He asked her why she stayed indoors. The disease is in her, so it doesn’t matter if she is outside
or inside. Both places are dangerous.
12) The murder victim (Patrick Spring) hired Dirk to investigate his own death 6 weeks before it
happened.
13) ‘The rowdy 3’ (four guys with baseball bats) wrecked Todd’s apartment, and then left.
14) He was angry about the destruction, so he fired a shot. The shot ricocheted off the wall and
bounced back on him. He died as a result.
15) The manger was shot with an electric crossbow by two bald men. One of them asked him
whether he had seen a kitten in the penthouse.
16) He admitted that Dorian was right; Todd had paid him the money but then stolen it back in order
to help his sister.
17) Todd kept seeing the same lost dog. So, he returned it to its owner. Inside, he saw a girl (who
may have been Lydia).
18) Todd won the lottery! He had found a lottery ticket on the floor before going into the penthouse.
The same lottery ticket won, and the TV presenter was the same woman who he spoke to in the
hotel at the very beginning. What a coincidence!

1) Because Lydia Spring called her and asked her to come. However, her last words were ‘Lydia,
don’t it’s a tr...’ (trap)
2) The corresponded to a hammerhead shark.
3) They snuck into the home of the man who was seen with Lydia.
4) Their car broke down, so they asked a biker (who was passing by) to help them fix the car.
5) They had to escape as the owner returned. Unfortunately, the house caught fire while they were

6) His provisional theory was that a group of men were hypnotizing dogs into believing they were
humans, and humans into believing they were dogs.
7) It was important because the kidnappers sent Dirk a message, asking for dog in exchange for
Farah. If they didn’t bring the dog, they would kill Farah.

don’t even know). Suddenly, Todd saw a woman’s face on the dog and let go of it in shock. Farah
then attacker her kidnapper and ran to Dirk and Todd’s car. Meanwhile, the FBI (who were
watching) tried to shoot one of the bald kidnappers. He managed to hit one, but then he was hit by
an arrow and killed.
9) The biker explained that he would now kill them and steal their car. And the assassin killed him.
She was shot at but not killed. She told Ken that the universe would not allow her to die.

him that he would now be taking residence in a new body. The new body would be Gordon
Rimmer.
