Personal Philosophy in Nursing
Nursing is a noble profession with high moral principles. I choose it because of the
opportunity that it provides to transform the lives of many in a holistic way. The
gift of connecting with people using nursing as a positive tool does impact lives
and it gives a sense of personal pride and commitment to the profession. To serve
with commitment, compassion, integrity and without reservation goes far more
than just getting a reward but the satisfaction that is returned from the receiver.
Nursing is so dynamic and has over the years adapted to the new demands in
medicine and health care delivery system through the use of technology but
nothing replaces the human touch.
It is my intention to keep in strides with my philosophy through advancing my
career pathway in education and research. I will embrace the ethical code of the
Nursing Profession as it relates to Nurse and Practice, People, Profession, Co-
Worker, and Society. Nursing for me is not just a career it is a privilege given to
utilize the knowledge and skills gained in the restoration of health for those in
need.
I will continue to provide a positive team environment and collaborate to maximize
the patient’s health potential on the illness-wellness continuum. I will always do
my part to improve the image of the nursing profession.
My most important contribution to nursing is my positive outlook on life,
enthusiasm, and the ability to offer hope to clients and their families.
