Research Purpose:
In our view, your participation in this study can help us to understand the link between DASS and
Internet addiction. You contribute to the larger good by participating in this study, which will benefit other
university students, neighbours, parents, teachers and researchers as well as scholarship holders.
Furthermore, involvement will make you contribute to the area of psychology in a significant way.
2. Type of Research Participation:
We would like to extend you an invitation to participate in our survey questionnaire. In order to gauge
your individual perspective on a number of subjects, this questionnaire is the heart of our study. If you
are willing to participate, we will provide you with a website link that leads to a Google form containing
completed consent forms and the questionnaire. There is no time limit, and there is no right or wrong
answer to the questions you're going to be answering.
3. Participant Selection:
You are being asked to participate in this study because your knowledge and experiences as a student
are valuable to our research. We seek to discover the link between students' depression, anxiety, and
stress and their addiction to the internet.
4. Voluntary Participation:
Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. It is totally up to you whether or not to engage. If you
decline to participate, any information you have already provided will be discarded. You have the right to
withdraw from the study even if you initially agreed but later changed your mind.
5. Procedures:
If you agree to participate, you will fill out a Google Forms survey with your student number, year level,
and section description. Your responses will be kept totally confidential; your name will not be printed on
the forms, and only the researchers will have access to your survey.
6. Duration:
Each participant will be sent a link that opens a Google Form containing the questionnaire. Data will be
collected during the academic year 2023-2024. Furthermore, the researcher will use social media
networks like Facebook to find possible subjects. The entire procedure, which includes answering the
aforementioned questions, should take no more than 10 minutes.
7. Reimbursements:
You don't have to spend any money on this study; we only ask you for time and access to the device of
your choice, such as: smartphones, tablet computers, laptops. Participation shall be totally free,
voluntary, and there is no incentive for it. But we are really grateful for your time in our study.
8. Confidentiality:
The participants will fill out Google Forms to finish the research project. Personal information will be
securely maintained in order to protect your identity. Only researchers will have access to respondents
data, and the information you submit will not be shared with anybody outside of the study team. Secured
file storage systems will be used to store data. Your information will be kept private and only the
researchers will have access to it. Data will be kept for as long as necessary for research reasons and
then discarded once the study is completed.
9. Sharing the results:
You may get a copy of the questionnaire findings as well as your unique interpretation. Individual
findings of other participants will be kept private, and only aggregated, anonymised data will be
presented after the study is completed. Any information that could potentially disclose the identities of
participants will be removed from the data display.
10. Right to refuse or withdraw:
You have the option to decline or withdraw from this study at any time. If you opt to withdraw from the
study during its course, all data obtained from you will be wiped.
