INTERNSHIP PLAN
On-the-job trainings provided by Zambales 2nd Engineering Office is designed for
students/trainees who are willing to be exposed not only on field works but also other tasks
significant to specific degrees/courses of each of the former. The agency will designate
students/trainees on particular section where they can gain knowledge in accordance with
their educational background. After the training period, students/trainees will be given a
certificate of completion.
Objectives:
1. Learn to associate an academic theory on a diverse practical works.
2. Develop functional and behavioral competencies through a day-to-day
experience on field tasks and paper works.
3. Master and improve technical skills.
4. Be knowledgeable on various duties and responsibilities of a particular
unit/section of this agency.
5. Build a good communication skill which is essential on dealing with people
inside an organization.
Howard Kent C. Abiera , will be assigned in the
Planning and Design Section from the commencement of his/her training until the completion
under the supervision of Engr. John Jericho G. Ladringan , section chief.

Planning Prepares plans and designs in accordance with pertinent laws, policies,
and Design standards, guidelines and procedures for roads, bridges, flood control
Section systems, buildings and other public works projects;
Reviews, formulates and consolidates the Annual Infrastructure Program of
the District Office within the medium-term infrastructure development
programs, on the basis of planning application inputs, master plans, and
feasibility/ pre-feasibility studies on infrastructure projects; and Manages
data collection and performs data quality checking as inputs to planning
applications.
Maintenance A. The Maintenance Management Unit
Section Responsible for the implementation of existing guidelines and
procedures for the effective maintenance of national roads and
bridge and infrastructures, including safety measures to ensure that
the annual maintenance works/programs/performance budget are
properly implemented; Undertakes removal of obstructions along the
Road Right-of-Way; and Process requests Clearance for Excavation
Permits submitted by utility': companies/agencies in accordance with
existing guidelines.
B. Equipment Service Unit
Prepares and consolidates the annual procurement plan for the
maintenance and repair of the existing equipment fleet; and Assists
the Supply and Property Management Unit in the conduct of regular
inventory of physical assets in accordance with existing rules and
regulations.
Quality Monitors the implementation of Quality Assurance Program of the District
Assurance Engineering Office in accordance with the quality assurance policies of the
Section Department; Conducts testing of construction materials for projects
undertaken by the DEO; Operates and maintains the DEO, testing equipment
and monitors its reliability and accuracy; Submit samples of materials used
in construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, buildings, drainage and
other structures; Identifies and recommends sources of naturally occurring
and manufactured construction materials to the Bureau of Research and
Standards (BRS); Reviews and recommends the Quality Control Programs
(QCPs) being prepared by the contractors’ Materials Engineers; Conducts
and participates in the inspection of projects for the purposes of Billing,
Issuance of Certificate of Completion/ Acceptance of the DEO-implemented
projects; and Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
or delegated by the supervisors.
Construction Supervises and implements infrastructure projects in accordance with
Section approved plans and specifications; Oversees, assists, inspects and monitors
infrastructure projects. implemented by the District Engineering Office
(DEO), Local Government Units (LGUs) and other government agencies
including those covered by the Memorandum of Agreement; and
consolidates and updates data in the Project and Contract Management
Application (PCMA).
