Ajmer Sewerage Project Vetting

The document is a vetting report for a sewerage DPR prepared for Ajmer Municipal Corporation. The report finds the DPR design parameters and planning horizon are acceptable according to CPHEEO Manual guidelines. Self-cleansing velocities and pipe materials adopted are also as per guidelines. Environmental and social impact assessments are satisfactory. The report provides some recommendations for sewage pumping station and STP designs.

VETTING REPORT OF A.JMER SEWERAGE DPR

Ajmer Municipal Corporation has submitted a DPR prepared for sewerage project under AMRUT-2. The DPR has
been prepared by M/s Codcon Consultants. Following are the observations:
The report has been prepared as per the CPHEEO Manual and all design parameters taken are as per
the manual hence design parameters are acceptable.
i) The planning horizon is 2025-2055 assuming that project would be completed by 2025. As such design
period is 30 years which is as per the manual.
Sewage generated has been considered as 80% of the water supplied. Water supply rate has been
assumed as 135 Ipcd and wastewater generation has been considered as 108 Ipcd which is acceptable
(Iv) Peak factor has been considered as 2.25 which is ok as per the population of the city and in agreement
with the manual.
(V) Minimum gradient of the sewers adopted are as per manual.
(vi) Self-cleansing velocities of 0.6 m per second for present peak flow and 0.8 m per second for ultimate
peak flow adopted in the DPR are as per guidelines of the manual.
(vii) Maximum velocity in the sewers has been restricted to 3.0 m per second which is less than scouring
velocity hence ok.
(vii) Minimum depth of cover has been kept as 1.0 m which is ok.
(ix) Pipe material adopted for property connection and sewers are ok.
) Environmental impact and social impact assessment is satisfactory.
(xi) Information education and communication chapter gives detailed guidelines for this project and needs to
be adopted while executing the project.
(xin) Analysis of whole system (presently existing system and newly added sewerage system after
integration of both) has been conducted and total system is satisfactory
(xii) The sewage pumping station designs has been done and is satisfactory
(xiv) In the design of STP, in pumping station, pumps should be so provided that even if one pump fails,
there is no difficulty in pumping.
Xv) The location of pumped sewage discharge has been carefully decides so as to reduce pipe length and
achieve economy.
