Shuttering Works:
Shuttering or formwork is the term used for temporary timber, plywood, metal, or other
material used to provide support to wet concrete mix till it gets strength for self-support. The
roof shuttering work is done in Navamani Jewels on 18 th June 2022 in Theni. In this timber and
steel materialsare used as a shuttering material.

Initial stage of shuttering
Shuttering and Brick work:
Formwork helps in giving shape and strength to the concrete. Shuttering or formwork is
the process of giving support and stability to the concrete before it becomes solid. The shuttering
is commonly made using wood and steel.Brick work is a masonry construction work using bricks
and mortar. In simple joining bricks using mortar in a systematic pattern is called brick work.
Mortar is a paste like substance used to bind the bricks together. It resembles the meaning of
filling gaps between bricks. The brick work is done in Navamani jewels on 20 th June in Theni.
English bond brick masonry is used. English bond in brick masonry has one course of stretcher
only and a course of header above it.

Brick Work:
Brick work is a masonry construction work using bricks and mortar. Brick is a basic
building unit which is in the form of rectangular block in which length to breadth ratio is 2 but
height can be different. This brick work is used in house construction in Shivaji Nagar, Theni
district on 21st June 2022. Brick and mortar are used as the brick work materials.

Roof and Beam Shuttering works:
Shuttering is defined as the temporary molds that are used to hold the wet concrete in
place until the concrete has set and cured.Shuttering is started after completion of staging.
Plywood or metal any type of shuttering are used base on the load of slab. During shuttering
proper alignment and level of shuttering is checked. Shuttering is properly sealed to avoid slurry
leakage which will lead to honeycomb structure or segregation of concrete. Demolding agent are
used in shuttering for smooth finishing of concrete surfaces and easy stripping of shuttering
boards. The roof and beam shuttering works are done in Navamani Jewels in Theni on 22 nd June
2022.

Roof Works:
Roof construction is the process of building a roof for a structure. Roof is the covering of
the top of a building, serving to protect against rain, snow, sunlight, wind, and extremes of
temperature. Roofs have been constructed in a wide variety of formsflat, pitched, vaulted,
domed, or in combinationsas dictated by technical, economic, or aesthetic considerations. This
roof work is done in Navamani Jewels in Theni on 23rd June 2022.

Brick work:
Brick work is a masonry construction work using bricks and mortar. Brick is a basic

Pipe fitting for wiring works:
An electrical conduit is a tube used to protect and route electrical wiring in a building or
structure. Electrical conduit may be made of metal, plastic, fiber or fired clay. Most conduit is
rigid, but flexible conduit is used for some purposes. This pipe fitting work is done in flower
market, Theni on 25th June 2022.

Electric works:
Fixed wiring is essential for all the electrical activities necessary on the site. This
includes ensuring all the vital spots of a construction site have electrical power to use the heavy-
duty equipment. This means installing power cables, sockets, distribution boards, etc. This
electrical work in house construction is done in Periyakulam, Theni district on 27th June 2022.

Column Lapping:
Length or overlapping length is the length at which two bars of a column are spliced or
overlapped in order to maintain the continuity of the bars throughout the length of the column.
This method of overlapping two reinforcement bars is called lap splicing.The objective of lap is
to transmit load from one bar to another bar as well as retain continuity. The positioning of lap is
dependent on the bending moment of the column. Stress generation is more at lapped portion of
bar as compared to the place where the bar is continued. The column lapping work is done in
Periyakulam, Theni on 28th June 2022.

Parapet Wall:
Parapet, a dwarf wall constructed around the edge of a roof, balcony, terrace, or stairway
designed to prevent from falling over or to shelter them from attack from the outside. Parapet
wall is constructed for a height of 3 feet.

Conclusion:
A lot of experience and knowledge related to construction was gained by us during our
