All the decisions on revision or introduction of new programme are decided by the
BOS wherein, besides course faculties, subject experts from other states are
represented. Based upon the discussion and deliberation of the BOS required changes
are being made in the programme.

does the department utilize the feedback?
Yes. Feedback received from the faculties is placed before the Departmental
Committee to revise the curriculum.
b. Students on staff, curriculum and teaching-learning-evaluation and how does
the department utilize the feedback?
Students on staff – every academic year feedback is obtained by the IQAC and the
findings are communicated to the faculty individually every year. The feedback is
taken into account for confirmation/ promotion.
c. Alumni and employers on the programmes offered and how does the
department utilize the feedback?
The Department of Malayalam has alumni association who helps in revising
syllabi, writing programmes and journalism.

Conducting special lectures and workshops frequently and well known scholars from
the various parts of the country conducting classes in various subjects like Media
studies, Film studies, Cultural studies and Linguistics.

The teaching methods include lectures, group discussions, ICT, seminars and
tutorials.

By periodical sessional test, assignment, quiz, tutorials and counseling.

Faculties are actively participating in the programe that conducted by the various
Malayalee associations in Chennai, and affiliated colleges of Madras University and
schools.

1. Open Window Forum of the Departments organizes various programmes like
Open forum, Dramatic performances, open poetry etc.
2. One short Film work- shop conducted
3. In collaboration with Dakshina Malayalam, classes for beginners are being
conducted for non Malayalam speaking people.
4. Students composed poetries and published it as a book.
