Original Imaginative Composition in Colour
This paper is to be given to the candidates one week in advance.

(Time allowed: Three hours)

INSTRUCTIONS
You are required to make an original composition based on any aspect of one of the
subjects given below.
Before starting work, take careful note of the following instructions (a), (b) and (c).
(a) You must on no account copy or base your composition on any picture you have seen.
Failure to observe this direction may lead to disqualification.
(b) Your picture should fill, or approximately fill, your sheet of paper.
(c) Except for the number of the question, your unique identification number (UID) and
index number, you must not write on the front of your picture.

Select any one of the following topics stating its number:
1. Imagine the scene of a busy checkout counter in a supermarket. A customer’s purchases
are being billed by the cashier, while others are waiting their turn with shopping baskets
full of goods in their hands. The background should reflect the ambience of the store.
2. It is night-time and it is getting late. You are waiting with some friends under a
street light to take the last bus home. Street food vendors are winding up their carts.
3. A wedding reception is to take place in a few hours. The tent house people are setting up
the show. Tables and chairs are arriving, lights are being erected, décor and catering teams
are working.
4. A parent teacher meeting is happening in your school. Students along with their parents
are waiting to meet the teacher. There is tension in the air.
5. A nature study class is taking place outside. The teacher is describing the structure of a
flower. It is a pleasant day.
