● Grade is numerical and alphabetical
● Depends on marks obtained
Grade calculation
Marks % Alphabetical Numerical
Grade Grade
Example
>=90 to 100 A++ 9.0-10 ● If the student secures P%,
>=80 but <90 A+ 8.0-8.9 where P>=30, his / her grade
>=70 but <80 A 7.0-7.9 point will be [30+{(P-30)×0.1]
>=60 but <70 B+ 6.0-6.9 ● If the student scores 52% his /
>=50 but <60 B 5.0-5.9 her grade point will be
>=40 but <50 C+ 4.0-4.9
[30+{(52-30)×0.1]=5.2

SGPA Calculation
● Semester Grade Point Average Paper Credit (Ci) Grade (Pi) Ci × Pi
● Calculated for each semester
● Weighted average of grade 1 6 7.5 45
points
2 6 6.3 37.8
● Weight means credit
● If Pi are the grade points of 3 6 5.7 34.2
papers obtained by a student
in a semester and Ci are the 4 2 9.2 18.4
credits of those papers then
5 2 8.3 16.6
SGPA= Sum(Pi × Ci) / Sum Ci
● SGPA is rounded off up to 3 Total 22 - 152
decimal places
SGPA= 152 / 22 = 6.909
CGPA Calculation
● Cumulative Grade Point Average CGPA Alphabetical Remarks

● Weighted average of SGPA 8.000 to 8.999 A+ Excellent

7.000 to 7.999 A Very Good

● Weight means credit
6.000 to 6.999 B+ Good
● CGPA=Sum(SGPAi × Ci)/Sum Ci
5.000 to 5.999 B Average
● CGPA is rounded off up to 3
