BONITA

The document outlines the scope and limitations of a study examining the impact of students building a bookshelf in school. It describes who would build the shelf, what materials would be used, and where the work would take place. It then hypothesizes that the bookshelf could promote reading by making the library less intimidating. The study would assess students' reading habits and interest in literature before and after the bookshelf's addition, and expects to find increased reading interest.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

Who: The fabrication of a bookshelf in a school could be undertaken by students under the guidance of a
teacher, ideally in a shop class or a similar setting. This could be an excellent hands-on learning
experience, teaching students not only technical skills but also planning, problem-solving, and
teamwork.

What: The project involves designing and constructing a bookshelf, using materials that are safe and
suitable for a school environment. This might include pre-cut wood, nails, screws, and non-toxic paint or
varnish.

When: The timeframe for this project will depend on the school schedule. It could be spread out over
several class periods, or it could be an intensive project during a special workshop or event.

Where: The work should be done in a space that's safe for students and equipped for woodworking, such
as a shop class. The school needs to have the necessary tools, and safety measures must be in place.
HYPOTHESIS

The fabricated bookshelf in school could be a part of an initiative to promote reading and literature
among students. The school might have realized that traditional library settings can be a bit intimidating
or uninteresting for some students. So, they decided to create a more approachable and intriguing space
where students can discover and enjoy books. This bookshelf could be placed in a popular spot, like the
cafeteria or a hallway, to catch students' attention and encourage them to pick up a book.
CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK OF THE STUDY

 Object of Study: The fabricated bookshelf in school.

 Purpose: To understand the role and impact of the fabricated bookshelf on students' reading habits
and interest in literature.
 Hypotheses:

 The fabricated bookshelf increases students' interest in reading.

 The bookshelf makes literature more approachable for students.

 Variables:

 Independent Variable: The presence of the fabricated bookshelf.

 Dependent Variables: Students' reading habits and interest in literature.

 Methods of Data Collection: Surveys, interviews, observation.

 Data Analysis: Comparing reading habits and interest in literature before and after the introduction of
the fabricated bookshelf.
 Expected Outcomes: Increased interest in reading and improved reading habits among students.
SYNTHESIS OF THE REVIEW

In 2019 and 2023, the primary function of a bookshelf is to store and display books and other items. This
fundamental purpose remains unchanged. In both years, bookshelves come in a wide range of styles,
sizes, and materials to suit different preferences and needs. Bookshelves continue to play a crucial role in
promoting a reading culture, whether in homes, schools, or public libraries.

While 2019 saw a preference for industrial and minimalist designs, by 2023, we might see a shift
towards more sustainable and eco-friendly materials, reflecting a growing awareness of environmental
issues. By 2023, bookshelves might incorporate more technology, such as built-in lights or even digital
screens for e-books or book-related information. As we move towards 2023, there might be a rise in
customizable or modular bookshelves that can be adjusted according to changing needs and spaces.
