The importance of education

Education is a large fraction of a person’s life. One learns and grows through the school
system in various ways. Knowledge is a powerful tool for the improvement of one’s life.
Obtaining the required understanding in a certain field is the way to success. It is a process
that never ends. We learn every day. School and university are the main sources of education
in our society but we as human beings learn and discover new things about our world every
day. The level of education is of significant importance when we talk about a country’s
standard and value of life, financial situation, and the structure of the society.
First, education teaches the basics for a valuable life. The ability to read, write, and talk
properly is among the first things a child learns in school. The evolution of the human world
has shown us the importance of these abilities in every single person for the prosperity of
society. Without them discovering new horizons in the science field and improving our world
on a larger scale would be impossible. Being literate has become a necessity and a starting
point for all other knowledge that has the ability to change the world.
Education is the ticket to a good future. Obtaining a high school diploma with impressive
grades and later a Bachelor's in a field of interest is the way to earn a good living. Employers
are searching for people with high education. Uneducated people may not be faced with
many good quality job opportunities. The argument that some people do prosper without an
education is a fact, but knowledge will always be of use and a safety net.
Additionally, education is the base of our society. Studies show that countries with lower
rates of education may face serious problems such as higher criminal rates, vandalism, or
corruption. The school system not only teaches us the basics of the knowledge required for a
valuable life but also lays the foundation of our personality and characteristics. A child learns
how to be polite, how to communicate properly with others, and that every action has its
opposite reaction. It is of great importance for children before a certain age to learn that being
a part of a functional society is a responsibility and an honor one should highly value and do
its best to protect.
Finally, education gives us the freedom to do research, choose, and formulate our own
opinion on a certain topic. Through the system humans grow as people, developing the
needed mentality for a healthy thought process. One learns how to express his emotions in a
clearer manner and how to communicate them with others. An educated person is less likely
to consider aggression as a way to solve a conflict, a parent with the required knowledge base
would raise children according to society's standards and an educated child is more likely to
share his broad horizons with his peers and influence them.
Education is a part of the journey of life. It gives us purpose and hope for the future of the
society. Every obtained knowledge is a step towards a better future. The importance of
education has been proved over centuries, building the basis for a healthy living atmosphere.
