Behavioural observation: The client was co-operative but showed initial confusion on the instructions that were give. The instruction had to be made clear more than one time for him to comprehend. However, once the doubts were clear he was able to proceed without much difficulty. The subject was also checked for colour blindness before the administration of the test and he showed no discomfort for the colours “Red” and “Green”. The subject maintained adequate eye contact. Interpretation: ‘The client was 42 years old and was administered colour cancellation test. The total number of correct cancels obtained by the client was 59. The client had 0 wrong cancels and 1 omission. A total of 60 seconds were given to the client for the test. The correctness af cancellation depends on one’s Vigilance, motivation and arousal and thls seems to be true in the case of my cllent as his level of vigilance, motivation and arousal did increase from the trail given to him on this test to the actual cancellation of the cdlours. In the practise trail, the client made 2 omissions in 2 rows, whereas, in the actual test he made only 1 omission in 7 rows. This shows he has good vigilance with adequate attention, This test is very effective in understanding the cognitive impairment among drug addicts, organics and alcoholics. Since, my client has been under treatment for about 21 days in the de- addiction ward, much effects of alcohol in de-limiting his attention and concentration is not seen. In fact, it is been that he has an average attention span as he had 0 wrong cancellations and 1 omission. Conclusion: ++ Client has average span of attention + His attention span isadequate ‘Suggestion: As tis seen that the client has an average to moderate level of attention, it must be noted that his drinking habit could make him deteriorate from his current level. Hence, continuous motivation and to abstain from alcohol through aversion therapy must be provided for the client. The client may be told to take part in activities that will further increase his attention span, such ds meditation, yoga etc.... and thus improve his concentration which will make him a patient listener unlike he initially ‘was in the beginning of this test. 1 \ Colour Cancellation Test, Cancellation tests have a long history in neuropsychological assessment.
