Dear sir/madam,

with this letter, I would like to express my keen interest in participation an academic mobility program-
Erasmus+ and spending an academic year/semester at the University of Perpignan as an exchange student. I am a
_____ year student at Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University which is a leading university in my
country in teacher training. Now, my ultimate goal is to enrich my obtained knowledge and strengthen by practical
experience as well as to interchange ideas and experience in international environment. I believe that advanced
training in exchange program will help me to realize my professional dreams more effectively.
It is a cliché to say that I have always known what I want to do with my life, but in my case, it happens to
be true now. From my early school years, I was enthusiastic in organization different activities for my cousins and
nephews. I always planned contests and games for them and had active role in their learning process. Besides
entertaining, it was important for me to make them having lessons from our activities. I remember that from that time
I used different teaching methodology like learning words by songs and sketches. These were my first and important
teaching experiences that led me to start my professional way in this direction.
It is fair to mention that my school and college teachers had extreme impact on me. When you think about
profession choice, the first thing that influence that choice is people that inspire by their passion to profession, their
striving to excellence and continuous development of professional skills and interpersonal qualities. Thanks to my
teachers at school, studying was pleasure because they never limited me and gave enormous psychological support.
Their kind and intelligent example had driven me to inspire others by being dedicated and enthusiastic teacher as
well.
Having enjoyed doing social sciences and languages right since we started these subjects at high school, I
always tried not to limit by school program and to do more extracurricular activities and participate different
competitions. This is amply reflected in my consistent high academic performance, always coming in with the top
students in my class at college and I graduated it with honors. The choice for further education to get undergraduate
degree was clear-I will be a teacher. Now I study on two foreign languages program. Learning languages together
with a range of narrow disciplines related to teaching methodologies shaped me as a professional in education ready
to contribute to improvement of education and teaching system in my country.
My reason for choice of exchange program at Perpignan University is that firstly it has the best
combination of courses and practical activities I was looking for. Also, tools and resources needed from the
scientific, practical and social point of view offered by your university give great opportunities for learning.
To achieve my professional goals as a well-qualified teacher, I need to focus on training and using
theoretical basics on practice as well as on development of personal skills such as presentation and leadership.
Moreover, in my opinion, the best way for a teacher to develop professionally is to interchange experiences and
brainstorm with colleagues. I am sure that the strong faculty, high reputation and great learning resources of your
university attract best future teachers from all over the world. I believe I have a lot to learn from them as well as
ready to share with my own experience with them.
I am dynamic, easily adaptable, purpose driven with high communication and interactive skills. I think that
an enormous list of events I have participated, organized and leaded are proofs of my active social profile. I love
volunteering and always try to be an active part of charity programs as I believe kindness will save the world. Thus, I
lead charity club and now give lessons of English for children in orphanage. I look forward to have even brighter
social life on my exchange studies.
It has always been my dream to study in Europe and because Europe is the site of excellence especially in
teaching, I strived for the best academic results while in my university to be able to enroll for this exchange
program..
The country I live in, Kazakhstan and the university I study at are very friendly and multinational. I love to
communicate, to get to know cultures and other nations’ history and traditions. I hope to have an opportunity to
become a member of the bright international community of University of Perpignan.

Sincerely,
Komilya Shermetova
