6. Read the text and underline all the instances of comparative and
superlative adjectives. TRANSLATE the text.

Giraffes - the giants of the savannah

Giraffes are incredibly tall. In fact, giraffes are taller than all the other
animals in the world. Adult giraffes can grow to six metres - that's taller than a
typical house! Baby giraffes are about two metres tall when they are born -
they're bigger than an adult human. This incredible height gives giraffes an
important advantage on the savannah because they can see when lions are in
the area. That's why you can often see antelopes and zebras with giraffes. It's
less dangerous than being alone.
Giraffes are 'giant-sized' in many ways. Adult giraffes weigh 850-1,270
kilograms. That's heavier than a family car! And they have an enormous
appetite - adults eat about 60 kilograms of leaves every day. They take leaves
off tall trees with their 53-centimetre-long tongues. Their large feet are wider
than dinner plates.
Perhaps surprisingly, giraffes are very fast. Even baby giraffes can run
at about 50 kilometres per hour. That's quicker than Lance Armstrong's
average speed in the Tour de France, but it's slower than a cheetah.
Cheetahs can run at 80 kilometres per hour. Luckily for giraffes, cheetahs
aren't strong enough to attack them - the giraffes are too heavy. In fact, only
lions are strong enough to attack young or weak giraffes. Thanks to its giant
size, a giraffe's life is better than many other savannah animals.

7- Discussion
Which meal do you think is tastier, French fries or pizza? Where do you get
the best pizza where you live?
